Something is amiss or ATT is gouging (not surprise). T-Mobile is charging $1.24 additional (unless you’re on the ONE plan which is taxes included).

While I would never be surprised at AT&T gouging customers, we do need to be careful when comparing different locations. Taxes and local regulatory fees can often be rather different.

I'm on T-Mobile's 55+ plan. When I added my watch, I got 3 months free and it is $10/month after that as best i can tell. There was no activation fee. However, I think the 3 months free and no activation may be for a limited time to get people to try the service. I moved from AT&T because of all the BS charges and so far I am very happy that I changed.

I don’t disagree. By 7x the cost though? I’d be surprised if that was the case. We’ve moved from CA to IA to MA then NH and back to MA and the billing differences have always been a few bucks on the entire account of four active lines.

We are in the Boston metro area, FYI.

That is the ONE plan so you won’t pay taxes. It’s just a flat $10 per watch line. I am curious though, does this include Netflix? Apparently Netflix is included with all 2+ lines ONE plans. Asking because my mom lives with us and we could shift around some plans to have our monthly rates make more sense.

The 55+ plan does NOT include Netflix. Also, it is restricted to 2 lines max. Still, at $60/month (taxes included) for two lines with unlimited everything, it is great. I was able to take advantage of a special that added 10GB of 4G tethering (unlimited at 3G) for free to each line. My old plan was $150/month for two lines with 30GB data from AT&T.

aweomse. thank you!

For some reason I remembered two lines with tmobile being $100. THat is now $120, so there isnt a scenario where we would save, especially since netflix is out the window.

I guess we keep our legacy plan until TMO offers something better or forces us out.

Politics, taxes and fees aren't all the same thing?
Sort of, but a lot of those fees, at least on my bill, clearly state they aren;t government required lol. IDK wtf the fees are for then.

You just need to get old. BTW, the $120/month plan you are mentioning DOES include Netflix. I am on the old person plan. AT $60 instead of $120, I'll give up Netflix. Otherwise, it is the same plan just reduced in price for us old folks.

I have no association with T-Mobile other than as a customer. In the past I have been with Verizon and AT&T. However, I have had occasion to deal with T-Mobile upper (very upper) management and they have been wonderful.

View attachment 724236 here is page 2 of the bill with Apple Watch LTE detail. page 1 dealt with IPhone. exactly the same surcharges, fees and taxes as on IPhone page 1. any activation credits would come later. haven’t talked to ATT yet. the $108.83 is total with IPhone.
In my opinion, you should remove the picture. Your phone number and other important information is still showing. Would hate to see something bad come from that.

It doesn’t sadly. The plan we are on isn’t T-Mobile one. It’s just a grandfathered four lines of unlimited plan from around 2.5 years ago when we joined up.

Not complaining by any means. I just like to make sure I’m getting the best value I can get out there. It sounds like we have the beat bang for our buck right now. :)

I was just pointing out that there is a T-Mobile plan that has 2 lines for $120 and includes Netflix.

Delighted to confirm: much of AW S3 LTE-related bill was one-time, as several more than necessarily agitated participants felt the need to argue.
Finally got off my keister and confirmed with AT&T: Ongoing service for AW should run about $12-13 per month in addition to my iPhone line.

Did you buy the AW3 from T-Mobile or directly from Apple? I’m asking because I read somewhere that we only get the 3 months free when we buy the AW3 from T-Mobile.

Anyone with the 20% Hookup discount from T-Mobile (from this past Feb/March time frame) get them to applied that to your AW3 LTE plan? It should technically make it a $8 a month instead of $10 a month...

AT&T is offering 3 months free plus waiver of activation fee. You get a $55 credit.

That was bad information from in uninformed T-Mobile store rep. You will get the 3 Months free service, it even shows up when you do the on-phone activation steps during initial Watch setup or later if you chose to Set up Cellular later. I have heard that the offer is currently set to expire 12/31/17.
New or existing customers on a qualifying plan, who purchase a new GPS + Cellular Apple Watch Series 3 will be given three free months of service. After the three free months, standard monthly charges for Data with Paired DIGITS ($10/month with AutoPay) will apply.

That’s good to hear. Ya I thought it made no sense but read that on the tmo sub. Should be picking up our AW3s today. Cancelled a MI iPad line that we don’t use to have the AW instead.

What’s the part about paired with DIGITS? I don’t use that coz I want my number to work with iMessage. Is DIGITS required?

Yes DIGITS is required. It pairs your Watch to your iPhone's number so you can get send and receive iMessages, SMS/TXT messages. Make & receive phone calls without the need to have 2 phone numbers, one for your iPhone and one for your Watch.

Note: The Watch does get assigned a phone number but it is not used directly.

Oh I guess my current T-Mobile lines are now DIGITS lines, I just never use any of the features.

I bought my watch at an Apple store. Another just arrived today from Apple and will be getting set up on T-Mobile.

All of the DIGITS stuff happens behind the scenes. I ran into one glitch where it initially looked like the setup didn't take but in reality it had. Overall it was a fairly quick and smooth process.

I just put another watch on T-Mobil and this time it was very quick and completely seamless.

I think the watch with it's limited use should be a lot less than an iPhone or iPad. At&t charging 10 bucks even with the credits of $55.00 is to much, at $5.00 it would be tolerable.

Ya, I was hoping it would be just $5. iPad lines are $20 each on TMO, the AW3 is $10, so it's sorta reasonable. I just added 2 watches to my TMO account and it went super smoothly.
