There are numerous tests available online that show the iPhone processing power is faster than any android flagship let alone the 3A. I’m not saying that personally the difference is going to be noticeable to most, but to some it will matter. Such as the RAM management on the Pixels is behind, keeping apps open in the background isn’t it’s strong point. Having to take longer to process a photo etc.
You didn't really answer my question. I think you should research that.

Competitor’s fans say (now) that phones are fast enough, no need for Apple to be 3 years+ ahead of their brands. That would be true if you never wanted to add any new features, which I’m sure the competition would love to see. Computational photography enabling the new cameras, machine learning, new health monitoring hardware, neural networks all depend on processing power and efficient use of resources, especially if you’re keeping most of the data on device. If your model is to send all the data to Google or Facebook’s servers for processing and slurping, then you obviously don’t need so much power.

Research what? I had two Pixel 3’s and both wouldn’t hold apps in the background. I’d have game running, open chrome then open Instagram and the game would reload. It would do the same with music apps if I opened maps.

The link above again proves that the iPhones offer better performance, which was my point.

What exactly was your question?

Sometimes I just don’t get the argument/conversation. Apple is criticized for having less RAM than their competitors (red flag btw), yet they outperform their competitors. I can supply links if needed.

Achieving better benchmarks than your competitors with LESS RAM is a very GOOD thing, not a bad one. That means that your engineering and hardware are BETTER not worse.

If Samsung owned the stack top to bottom like Apple does, they too could brag that 4 GB is just peachy!
