If I had a better picture of the second one I'm sure you could see. But if you look at the 3rd set as compared to the App Store icon you can see that the circular light rays coming out in the background and more like solid lines on the new iTunes icon. The first time they changed it (the second iTunes icon) from the arrow to the music note the light rays in the back were identical to the App Store icon only pink, not they are much more defined like lines as you can see when you look at it next to the App Store icon. See it? I know lol, it is subtle, but I notice things like that.

what the.. im on 1.1.4 and is till have the arrow down button (for the itunes store) could that be caus eI'm in Canada i dont se ehow that'd affect it tho..

I'm the same but I am in the US on 1.1.4. My itunes icon has never been anything but a down arrow.. When did it change?

Because the new icon is only on the unreleased 2.0 software. It just so happens that while 2.0 is still in development, Apple has tweaked the icon a couple times, therefore making a total of 3 different icons when you count the original with the arrow which you and everyone still has no matter where you are until they release the new 2.0 software.

Good catch. It looks like a built-in App too (doesn't have the top-left corner X when he is moving icons about).

I think it is a good idea to do that, although I wish they would use the newer contacts icon they have in the MobileMe logo because it looks MUCH nicer.

I also think they need to combine the Music and Videos icons on the iPod Touch into one iPod icon like on the iPhone. It makes more sense now that there are going to be so many apps and icons because they are making it into a platform. No sense in wasting space and icons and it would make things consistant.

does anyone remember that in the keynote, when Phil is typing his password whatever he types actually shows up for like half a second that way you actually know you did type the right password i think that was pretty cool and don't think the present firmwware right now has it..

It doesn't. In 2.0 the last letter you typed shows up for about a half second or until you type the next letter, whichever comes first.
