yea but the lag of the HD4000 with that retina display will be noticed since the HD5300 is on par with HD4000?
Yes still this macbook has 1440p instead of 1800p but still wondering

10 years ago my Macbook Pro with far less specs than my current iPad was able to drive my 27" Dell 1080p HD Monitor just fine.. If it could handle that, the HD4000 will handle the little 1440p monitor on the Macbook just fine.

It's really annoying how so many people have fallen victim to the marketing scam message that you need all these crazy specs to run things you do every day. I guess its what keeps people upgrading unnecessarily. LOL

Just an example of why the apprehension exists:

I really believe that's a software or driver problem and not an issue of not enough processing power.

Correct. My 2012 15" rMBP had the same issue and it was very frustrating at the time. This was later corrected and it runs very smoothly now with Yosemite.

Most of this Macbook bashing is coming from people failing to realize that many people use their computer to browse Facebook, write emails, and use some Word programs only.....complaining about running Skyrim of heavy use applications is just pointless.

We also need to remember that these new Core M processors have put out similar test results to the i5 processors from just a couple years back. People are running Macs and PCs with no problem, I don't see why this laptop would be any different.

Yep. I expect that it'll run just fine for the people who need and use it for browsing, writing, office productivity, email, etc... (Which is actually probably a large % of users... I think most users own over-powered machines )
If you do a bunch of graphically intensive work, or play a lot of games, this isn't the machine for you. Go pro. Otherwise, it'll work just dandy, I'll bet.

Exactly....honestly I've been pretty deadset on getting a Pro for a while, especially since I'm going into engineering at Texas A&M, but thinking about it, with my normal usage a pro would just be a waste of money. But Apple is good at spacing their products where people say, "wellll just in case I need it" or "is this enough for me?" or "I need this port" so that many get sucked into the higher machines.

Nevertheless I totally agree on most users owning over-powered machines.
