Nope, 20 is 20. 30 is 30 and so on.

It's just some vocal folk just like to drag their heels and think they're young still.

I find I can still do the same things, It just takes longer to recover :p

My kids were shocked (as were some of my neighbors) when I jumped on my sons skateboard and showed them a thing or two. I spent the next two hours on the couch "Resting my eyes" though! LOL

My father is 72 and still snow skiis, rides a Harley and can drink like a fish. It's a state of mind. Physical health usually helps though.

I am forty-something and I don't think I am like any thirty year old...period.

I just spent 90 minutes skateboarding and it wiped me out.

There is not any sport I have tried that is as dangerous, exciting, or rigorous than street style skateboarding. It is the least forgiving sport I can think of. Let's put it this way, it's not golf.

But my age shows, and at best a 40 year old street/tech skater could say they skate and endure like a 35 year old, but not a 30 year old.

And I am sure some other sports prove that, too.

What do you think?

Don't know- I'm 41 but no one would think so. I always get shocked looks when I tell people my age. A lot of people think I'm in my late 20's! OK, I'm immature, but jeez! :)

I certainly can't stay out boozing like I used to, haven't touched drugs for probably 12 years, and have arthritis in my knees. But hey- I'm at the gym on a regular basis, I have no beer gut, and I can still pick up guys easily. So what's not to like? ;)

Now speaking of sports- weight lifting is all I really do anymore, and I'm doing just fine with it. I lift more than I did in my 20's that's for sure.

Life expectancies, better nutrition and healthcare and the way society's expectations have changed about people mean that people are generally getting married later in life, as well as being to able continue activities at certain ages that perhaps our grandparents wouldn't have been able to do.

Compared to 30-40 years ago, there are also far more single-occupant households where many have the freedom to pursue their interests free from familial responsibilities, and also indulge in activities and hobbies they did when they were younger.

I mean, I don't look a day over 21. ;)

Rowing is deffinately not forgiving, either on water or the machine, it takes a whole heap out of you even with a semi-decent technique for power distribution. If you're not quite sure, row a 2k under 7mins (for most people) and feel the burn!! :D

such a rower's comment!

I miss rowing so much... :( 24 now - just too busy

Proof?

My girlfriend is 29 in November and looks about 21. Helps that she's 5 foot though. I'm 6ft2 so it's a nice combo ;)
