Went to the Apple store at the Irvine Spectrum to buy a MacMini. There was a HUGE line out the door for folks returning their iPhones for full refunds. It took them 45 minutes to get me a box from the back room due to the hassle.

I checked with several people in the line, they were definitely in line for refunds.

Anyone else see this?

That's pretty crazy. I wonder why the line? Couldn't they have gone in any time this past week/month? Steveo said people could return their phones basically whenever up until, what 9/30?

That is a bit interesting. But it is the 30 day return cutoff for first day buyers. No such spectacle at my local store today.

I was under the impression there would be a grace period beyond the 30 days. Can't help but think some may have been returning, but many were vying for free bumpers.

You are not telling the truth ;)

This is ironic because yesterday I was at my local Apple Store and there was a line of 30-40 people waiting for over an hour to buy their iPhone 4's. IF there was a line for refunds, it was for refunds on bumpers...

There was a line a the apple store in Leawood KS today of about 30 people, but all where getting iPhone 4's.. OP is full of it! :apple:

Yeah there was a line at SLC apple store it was for BUYING iphone 4's!

I think they are catching up with alot of peoples reservations because I reserved mine 3 days ago they told me it would be 3 weeks and I got mine today!:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

Why is your join date july 2010??

Liar, guy that works for me picked up his iPhone 4 from that store today since that is where his family is from.

He said the store was busy and there wasn't a line, but a lot of people buying reserved (he waited 3.5 weeks) iPhone 4s

I was at Fashion Island (very close to the Irvine Spectrum Apple Store the OP mentions) today and there was a long line outside the store. At the head of the line there was a sign that said "Reservations". I'm assuming that meant they were there to pick up their phones, but I guess it could have been for "Genius" Bar appointments. However, don't they usually space those appointments out enough to never cause a line?

Also, say you wanted to return the phone, don't you have to go to the GB?

I noticed a line for something when I got my bumper refund, but I was not sure what it was for. I did notice a lot of employees holding new iPhone 4 boxes though.

What a lame, L-A-M-E attempt at trolling. Go the frak away with your bullsh*it!

There were lines at many of the apple stores today because they had received their notices that their reserved phones had arrived. Apple received a large shipment of the iPhone in the last 2 days. They were here to buy that phone, not return it. The store in Glendale had a line of about 60 people @ 7:20pm today. In fact, one of the specialist in the store I talked to about the line was predicting that Apple would probably sell another 500k to 1million iphones before the weekend is over! :)

I was at apple store in L.A. last night, and there was a line as well. But it was all people in line for their new iPhones. I call bull. There would not be that kind of line for returns.

Went to the Apple Store in Northridge today. It was business as usual. Apple can't make iPhone 4s fast enough to meet demand. Some random whining on the internet isn't going to hurt them. Also, I was there to get my Bumper refund and I was the first one in for it.

I call BS. Who buys a Mac Mini :)
