I hate to "beg" them for warranty repair. It happened to me for my iPhone 7 dead audio IC chip & Airpod Pro rattle noise and apple never fixed my iPhone 7.

I might stay 13 mini for little bit longer since apple obsolete mini. Battery health is my main concern.

That is speculative at this stage. It may or may not happen and a device with similar size may or may not take its place.

I’ve never bought AC+ in all the years I’ve owned iPods, iPhones and iPads. My property is insured through my home and the idea of giving Apple hundreds of pounds for insurance policies doesn’t sit right with me. My iPhone is in a case and I’ve never smashed a screen or damaged an iPhone. Perhaps I’ve been lucky with the products I’ve owned as they sound a lot more reliable than your experience. My wife has been using Mac’s since the mid 90’s and never needed a repair or replacement. If the worst happened I think I’d rather use the money I’ve saved not buying AC+ or let my insurance sort it out.

Yep this time around that’s exactly what I’m doing. Insuring my devices via my home insurance.

It’s $70 for a battery replacement. I replaced my battery this past july on a launch day xs max.

That’s two & half years. No need to obsess over the battery.

I had apple care for a year on my mini. i Don’t think it was worth it given it’s cheaper than a pro model to replace. With a pro I recommend buying applecare. I honestly used accidental damage to replaces my mini that had exterior scrapes by me going caseless. Also my oleophobic coating was gone. Given the mini is better to hold with a case I slapped one on And canceled apple care. Also put a screen protector to prevent the oleopobic from wearing out.
