I have a white 2.4 Macbook which I love and works great for me. I really don't need anything more powerful but I REALLY want a MBP.

So, can you guys give me some good reasons for me to buy a MBP? :D

Some I found are:

- bigger screen
- backlit keyboard

P.S. I really feel like the apple fans in that Simpsons episode, when they take the money of their bags as soon as Steve Mobs says he haves announcements.

Speaker hole sexiness.

LOL, best reason ever yeah. The unibodies are much more solid than any other laptop I have ever encountered. Much less probability for mechanical failure. Also, the black bezel around the screen makes you focus on the graphic critical work, it's not as distracting as the white one. Also, better cooling because of the all-aluminum housing. 2.1 inch greater screen, which is noticeable. And might I add, the new trackpad is simply a joy to use. There. :D

9600m GT.
Better screen.
Speaker hole sexiness.

- I think better screen is a good reason since I am studying advertising and I do work with photoshop and illustrator (although not a lot).

- Is the 9600m GT really a good reason if i don't use any GPU intensive apps?

- Speaker hole sexiness????? :D

If you have an Adobe CS4 apps, then yes the 9600m GT will help. If you have an CS3 then no, only if you work on dramatically bigger files under Photoshop.

And speaker hole sexiness..
just look at it! It's sexiness!

I don't have CS4 yet, just CS3.

The whole MBP is sexy, not just the speakers. :D

What do you mean no? The whole thing is made from one block of aluminum, and her Macbook has several parts inside. Rock solid! anjinha ;), ocasionally I find myself in rough circumstances with my gear, so it's always good to have a piece of gear that you know isn't going to fall apart (I feel the similar way with my rock-solid keyboard gear and racks, which have never let me down). Also, as I had the chance to work with both, the Macbook white and the Macbook Alu, I can say that already the difference in performance is WOW. Add to that the "Pro" factor, and you are never gonna leave that thing out of your sight. Because it's very pretty, too.

Really, there are signs of a refresh of the 15" soon? I'm thinking of getting one. I do need something more powerful than my MB 2.4, it was bought as a temp laptop for last summer. Eventually I want a 17", but going to wait for SL and for the next gen cpu.

The MBP is 2" more...does anybody really not want 2" more?

Sounds like enough reason to me.

Intel is supposed to deliver quad core CPUs for laptop usage in Q4 2009, so new Macbooks will have that, but not before Jan 2010. That's just my guess though.

yessss

*Screen size
*Everything else that comes with it

I went from the 13" macbook, sold that. Went with the 15" new aluminum MBP. Lovely

I think so, not a redesign you understand , but a refresh ie: tweaking this and that internally, I'm sure we will start to see folks posting that they have Macbook late 2008 rev1.2 or something like that , Apple prolly wouldn't mention it online , if they have any sense though they might apologies and drill out that few millimeters on the side of the Macbook 13"and put a Firewire port back in.

Not until August

Snow Leopard Integration, Slight Speed bump that wont be noticable

Q4 2010, (August 2010) Quad Core integration, but by then the computers will have a whole new design, they'll need it for the quad core cooling.

- better quality screen
- higher resolution
- faster graphics

Other than that your 2.4 should be plenty capable and I think the 13 looks better than the 15 anyway.

Snow Leopard in August, really? I was hoping it would be sooner, have you any links confirming August or is it a opinion?

thanks

to show MacBook users from a far that you have the better, sexier model. just like 16 GB white iPhone users do to 8 GB iPhone users :p.

oh yeah and Firewire… he's one sexy dude as well.

WWDC is in June when it will be announced, it will be for sale soon after, Early July on DVD, and like iLife will take 2 months to come preinstalled on computers, so August.

pretty standard format really

If you need it sooner for coding software etc so your ready for its release then sign up to Apples developer connection and get the beta

Yep already on DC but you sound very convinced of MB revisions in August, they don't always release new items at these shows, what makes you so sure?
