I would also like to have known that while iOS will connect to LTE, 4G, 3G, & even Edge networks, unless it is connected to LTE, none of the apps function. No maps, no email, no messages, no skype, no nothing.

Compounding the problem, once signal drops all the way down to "No Service", it apparently loses its ability to reconnect no matter how many times you try switching cellular data on & off. Only a hard reset will get the cellular antenna working again, and then only trying to connect to whatever type of connection (LTE, 4G, 3G, E) it first detects.

So, if god forbid you drive out of a city, you might as well leave your iOS 10 device at home, because it will leave you wandering aimlessly with no means of communication whatsoever.
Sounds like you are having some sort of issues with your device.

Yeah, I'll say. I could make a very artistic blog with all the weird stuff that's been happening since installing iOS10.

Get a few 10's of millions of your friends to stop buying the iPhone and then maybe Apple would be annoyed enough to consider bringing it back. You might want to go annoy the Moto and Samsung websites because it is apparently going to happen possibly next year for those OEMs as well. The amount of people that will care or be affected by this is insignifigant on the whole.

WHAT? What? What?

What are you suggesting? To stop buying products he hates instead of whinging? Who the hell does that?

I do. I have a Nexus 5x and I hope Google learns from this whining to keep the headphone jack in their future iterations.

And yes, even MacRumors forums complaints have an effect on that in my opinion.

So apple criticism equates to being troll? Is this a phone or a cult?
"Apple playing catchup to Samsung, lol fail" is trolling.

"Apple dropping the headphone port is not a good idea because..." is criticism.

My "trolling" remark was clearly targeting the first kind, so you, too, please troll off to somewhere else.

Lots of things of that sort have been said when iOS 7 came out with a new design...and that design is the one that many are used to and like in iOS 9 and the one they feel uncomfortable moving from with the changes in iOS 10. I'm not trying to say it's good or bad, just an observation about how these types of things seem to go.

Right and these things are happening since after Steve is not there. As an iPhone user since day one, and learning about UX in my studies at the same time that smartphones and especially iPhone came to prominence, I'm very concerned with the way things are going. There's a big difference between, "it's so intuitive you do not need instructions on how to use it" and "let's make changes just for the sake of changes, and over complicate messages: Hold 2 fingers for heartbeat, swipe with 2 fingers for fireworks, etc" Terrible really

Still don't get why Apple have a launch day and don't bother to meet demand.
They're meeting a very high percentage of the demand, as much as they can with existing production capacity. To meet 100% of it, they'd have to either:

1) use the same factory capacity that they currently have, but start production many months earlier - this would mean that a number of the new much-desired features would not make it into this year's phone/whatever because the final 100%-working/tested design had to be frozen months earlier, or,
2) invest in, say, two-to-three times the factory capacity that they need the rest of the year, knowing that the majority of their manufacturing capacity will now sit unused for 80% of the year, at enormous expense.

Quite simple really.

I have. I went to a nexus phone and it's better than the iphone 7 in my opinion. I go elsewhere to discuss other non apple tech with other people and I also go to this website. I still come here because a) I have a Mac that has a headphone jack and b) the fact that apple took out the headphone jack may make other companies think it's okay to do the same. My complaining helps prevent that.

Hahahahahahaha. Your complaining does nothing. Nothing at all.

I find it remarkable that I'm still finding things like lock screen bugs in 2016. I'm honestly wondering if Apple cut development staff the last few years. Strange choices in Xcode too. Stupid unintuitive size classes that nobody uses, but we're still missing the ability to reference constraints by identifier.

Early this morning (2:30 am) as I was getting ready for bed, my iPad Mini 4 completely froze with the screen locked on and no response at all. It was the worst crash I have ever experienced on any Apple device. It was only fixed by a reset, which was NOT appreciated at this time in the morning.

Way to go Apple, is this one of the new features of iOS 10?

..and for 1000000000th time - so what ? IPhone still misses one VERY IMPORTANT - an ability to listen to music with so comfortable well working headphones. If you want To go to wireless you could do that with iPhone 6 / 6s too. But removing of audio jack for NOTHING is just ...stooped :)))
Couldn't agree more, but this is the same company that insists on having its computers go "Duuuhh" when you start them up.

I did it, once again, upgraded to iOS 10, only on my iPod Touch, and getting a slew of silly stupid issues. Siri barely works, I asked her the time this morning and she replied faster than ever, and then as asked her to turn off the alarm and got nothing, had to reboot to get Hey Siri to work again.

Web browsing web pages, or any app that might have vertical scroll, if I touch scroll on the right side it starts to think I want to snap to that edge and starts to pull the page to the right, this is simply annoying and naive behavior.

Apple Home can't find a single device even when I place it right next to the iPod Touch.

There are some nice reworking of usability in some apps, but I am still trying to figure out what exactly is new about the "All New" photos app and Apple Music still pesters me to subscribe, but at least I can go into "Downloaded on my iPod Touch" mode more easily.

So another wonderful step backwards in reliability and usability as Apple releases yet another Beta iOS upgrade that will take 4+ patches before it works well again. At least it didn't brick my iPod this time.

BTW the iPod Touch is probably the last Apple product I will ever buy as long as Tim Cook is CEO.

Have you really not seen the arguments that explain why the headphone jack is not old or ready to be replaced like the floppy disk was? Or are you just choosing to ignore them like the rest of the people who spent $600+ on a crippled phone?

Have you really not seen the arguments explaining why the headphone jack was removed? Or are you just choosing to ignore them just to complain?

If you don't agree with it, fine; however, there are people that do. You think the iPhone is crippled, that's good; however, there are people that doesn't.

Move on with your life, people on this forum already read your opinion. Now, please, stop wasting your time and everyone else's time repeating it ad nauseam.

Remember, whatever Apple does, it's for our good. Nothing to do with corporate greed. We just don't know it yet. We are not worthy, we are not worthy.

Am I doing it right??

I don't know what you're doing.

If you're aiming at not making sense, then you are doing it right, I think.

I'm the same. This morning I had the alarm that gets me out of bed fail on my Apple Watch, and a couple of days ago, my iPad crashed so badly it needed to be reset by holding down the power button and home key. I've been keeping a log of all glitches on the platforms I use, since the end of July and I get more problems on OS X and iOS than Windows 10 and Android. Apple Watch is not on this list, as up until the recent update to the OS, there weren't any problems, but it is clear I need to add Watch OS as well. What is really revealing is that on Apple products, these are usually repeating problems, and on Windows they tend to be one offs. What is even more revealing is the almost complete lack of problems on Android. This list does not include the numerous times I have had to do things like type in my password so I can do something like read a book, as these are a "feature" of OS X and iOS. Here is the list so far:

Windows

17 Aug - Computer blue screened. The devices on the hub started working again.

17 Aug - All devices plugged into hub on desk disconnected with no apparent cause. I rebooted twice, and did a cold boot and it still didn’t come right.

17 Aug - Monitor had graphics glitches. Moved cable around and it came right.

12 Aug - Planetside 2 didn’t exit properly and seized up computer. Had to shut down.

12 Aug - Joystick suddenly out of calibration. Needed to be redone.

11 Aug - Planetside 2 didn’t exit properly and seized up computer. Had to shut down.

11 Aug - Top screen graphics glitch. Moved cable around and it fixed it.

7 Aug - Storage space failed again. Had to unplug it and replug to fix.

30 July - Graphics glitches on upper central monitor. Rebooted and they went away.

25 July - Application that I tried to uninstall got stuck and wouldn't do it. I had to go into the Task Manager and end it.

25 July - Keyboard wouldn't work after restarting (twice). Did a cold boot to fix it.

24 July - Text suddenly started being deleted when the keyboard suddenly went haywire. A sharp tap on the keys stopped this.

24 July - A Word document suddenly disappeared while tutoring and turned up on a different monitor. I moved it to the right one. This happened multiple times on the one night, and was VERY annoying.

23 July - Top screen stopped working. Unplugged and replugged.

22 July - Storage space for backup stopped working. Unplugged and replugged.

Android

24 July - Okay Google not responsive on Android Wear

OS X

19 Sep - Calendar double ups. Fixed by deleting them.

14 Sep - All widgets missing from notification centre, came back after a reboot.

12 Sep - Notification centre widgets moved around. Moved back.

12 Sep - Omnifocus not working properly, had to uninstall and reinstall.

01 Sep - iTunes meltdown with skipping tracks.

21 Aug - Notification centre widgets moved around. Moved back.

19 Aug - Notification centre widgets moved around. Moved back.

5 Aug - Notification centre widgets moved around. Moved back.

31 July - Top three screens froze up AGAIN in the middle of using the computer. Then all programs on the other screens froze as well. Fortunately this happened after I finished tutorials.

31 July - Reminders notifications stopped appearing.

31 July - Computer went to sleep but wouldn’t wake properly. The top three screens were active, but the bottom ones weren’t and the computer was frozen. I turned off the Displaylink adapters to force a reset of the screens, and it came right.

31 July - Program downloaded from the internet wouldn't open despite clicking on the "Open Anyway" option in the security preferences. I changed the option, to “From Anywhere,” but even then it wouldn’t allow it to open. After several more fruitless tries, I rebooted.

30 July - Shared calendar events showing up on the wrong calendar on Ember’s iPhone and iPad.

25 July - More calendar glitches with double ups of events appearing. Fixed by deleting them.

25 July - Windows moving so far up that the resize, minimise etc buttons disappear under the top bar. Fixed by using the snapping program to move the window.

25 July - Duplicated calendar events suddenly disappeared. Fixed by adding back in. Minor but annoying.

25 July - Names of reminders lists showing up in Calendar program on both desktop and laptop. Fixed itself.

23 July - Notification centre widgets moved around. Moved back.

23 July - Hard drive spontaneously disconnected. Moved to a different USB port.

iOS

19 Sep - iPad froze up completely, becoming a brick. Fixed with a cold restart done by holding down the home button and the power button.

21 Aug - Keyboard didn’t pop up in App Store.

05 Aug - Reminders for starting and finishing work didn’t show up on my phone, until this morning.

4 August - Added a whole pile of items to my Grocery list using Siri on my iPhone, only to find that none of them were listed in the app. They were on the computer and iPad, but not on the device they were created with. I had to create another item for the list on the computer, before they showed up.

26 July - An App (Numerous) wouldn’t load. I deleted it on both my iPhone and iPad, but it was no longer in the app store. I can only guess that it might not be available anymore.

Is it possible for us to have one article on this site that doesn't get overrun with incessant whining about headphone jacks or the lack of Mac updates? You can't possibly NOT know that the headphone jack issue has been discussed extensively on this site. All worthwhile discussion on the topic has long since been exhausted. Please let it go. Any further discussion on this is simply an indication that you want to annoy others by rehashing the topic.

Are you kidding? watchOS 3 is a revelation - it makes the original Apple Watch so much better! Glances were essentially barely functional screenshots of apps. They've been replaced by the Dock, activated using the lower side button, which gives you immediate access to actual in-memory, running apps, and the rightmost entry in the Dock is "Now Playing", giving you access to those controls you wanted. If you want even quicker access, you can set a complication to "Music", and get to the controls with one tap - as a bonus, if you use one of the long complications, it'll show the track currently playing. And they've made it easier to quickly change between watch faces, by swiping across the screen, making it more reasonable to keep multiple watch faces around configured for specific situations, so you can have one for the office, with a music complication set up.
I take it back. After using it for the past week. I dig it. It feels smoother. I like it. Just took me a minute to adapt.
