I knew that (as long as the fuse in a UK plug is 13 amps). Maximum power for a typical North American receptacle is actually slightly less than 1600 watts. The word 'derate' applies.Already stated that the UK standard is 13A.
Sure. This is what it looks like. Can you take pics of the labels on the LCS?
I'm guessing these are the two you mean? I am new to this machine.Sorry to be a pain but the labels on the right along with the label on the logic board which is above the RAM
No I wasn't. I was probably over on the iPad or MacBook Pro forum then. That's really interesting. How did you come across it? What insight does my serial number give?Yup thank you so much! Idk if you were here when I got my Quad, but it turns out mine is a prototype, the SN won't show up anywhere and the labels I mentioned said DVT on them. Also another thing I noticed that on my Delphi sticker, there is a label covering something.

That's awesome. To bad it didn't have any cool pre-release software on it. I think getting a prototype machine would be so cool. Here's a photo of it. I just think the industrial design on the machine is top notch. And I was browsing eBay one day and saw a Quad for 90$ I was considering buying it, but the issues it had indicated, a LB, CPU, or PSU problem. I decided to wait, and a new Quad came up for 150$ with no RAM, HDD, or Graphics Card. I looked up the SN everywhere and I couldn't find it, so I thought Apple may not register BTO Macs. I decided "Hey I'll take this one" I offered 125$ and they took it. Free shipping to boot! The next day a Quad came up for 90$ With 16GB RAM, 500GB HDD, and an FX4500. I was pissed until I got mine. It was damaged in shipping so I contacted the seller and got them to refund me 50$ which brought me to 75$ for a Quad which is ridiculous in itself. But I examined the computer a bit to check for internal damage, which is when I found the DVT labels. I also noticed the model number sticker was missing in the bottom, and the the DVD drive was manufactured nearly 4 months before the computer was announced. Now, this brings me to my next suspicion. I think there are a few options to where this computer came from. A- it was a software company's computer for testing their apps for the quad cores. Or B- it was used by Apple for some reason(showroom floor, a service manual guide, etc) But I am still elated to have this rare machine in my collection
The Thermal Cal turned out to be a big factor in the noise on mine as well. What version are you using? I got mine to pass with an AC unit blowing into the front.Yeah I find it really cool, however, it is a bit loud and wont complete thermal calibration. Your Quad was built in November of 2005 so it was an earlier one.
It says that both CPUs overheatedThe Thermal Cal turned out to be a big factor in the noise on mine as well. What version are you using? I got mine to pass with an AC unit blowing into the front. What error(s) is it throwing at you?
I've done it a few times now, ran into an "intake fan speed error" and it was due to a bent pin on the LB for CPU A. Also got an overtemp error prior. Seems to pass without AC in a cool room with the rebuilt LCS. But my pump is faulty and stuck on full RPM
