I ordered mine on 23 April and found out today that it is 'prepared for shipment'. But who knows how long it will take to actually ship let alone pass customs from China to the US. When I ordered it, it had a ship date of 9 May with 11 May delivery. Perhaps it will go out sooner...?
Regardless, it definitely beats early morning store hunts...

mine said "preparing for shipment" just yesterday. today it's been shipped and i have the tracking number. two days ahead of schedule.

So it seems like you can go PFS 3-6 days from your ship date.

New update for those who got shipped out of Chengdu yesterday 5/4 departure scan. New scan in Anchorage about an hour ago that it had arrived. UPS told me it was in Louisville.

🙁 I dont think it will be here tomorrow like UPS thinks it will... I typically like UPS for my lower-48 needs, though i think next time, i will go with FedEx given the option when doing international...

I think we may be in the same pallet. Did they say that the update was behind or what? That's good news for us though.

They're all moronic at the customer service number. For a logistics company you figure they would have more information than they have. According to the genius I spoke with this morning it was in Louisville. Then I got an update saying it had just arrived in Alaska. They don't have flight times or anything. The information that's updated on their website is the same information they have. Difference is they're getting paid as customer service reps to read it off a screen and tell you the same thing you're looking at.

I just called Apple and the rep I spoke to says they're getting several calls about what appear to be stalled shipments. On recent orders Apple's seeing that UPS is not updating their system (at least consistently), but it is likely iPads are moving within the UPS system. I think this manifests itself as people not seeing movement out of Chengdu until it shows up in Louisville, KY. The rep said my anticipated delivery of tomorrow at 10:30 am still holds.

Basically, there's no reason according to the rep (and apparently shared info from his supervisor) that nothing would have moved in almost 3 days.

I did ask that Apple give some feedback to UPS that *not* updating the shipment info is very frustrating. The rep said they've already done so and will continue to do so.

On a related note, over on the Apple forums, someone working through the UPS system found out that some shipments that have landed in Louisville have been delayed clearing Customs and they (UPS) has no control over *when* the entire shipment — and it's an atomic all or nothing — clears.
