I just called Apple and the rep I spoke to says they're getting several calls about what appear to be stalled shipments. On recent orders Apple's seeing that UPS is not updating their system (at least consistently), but it is likely iPads are moving within the UPS system. I think this manifests itself as people not seeing movement out of Chengdu until it shows up in Louisville, KY. The rep said my anticipated delivery of tomorrow at 10:30 am still holds.
Basically, there's no reason according to the rep (and apparently shared info from his supervisor) that nothing would have moved in almost 3 days.
I did ask that Apple give some feedback to UPS that *not* updating the shipment info is very frustrating. The rep said they've already done so and will continue to do so.
On a related note, over on the Apple forums, someone working through the UPS system found out that some shipments that have landed in Louisville have been delayed clearing Customs and they (UPS) has no control over *when* the entire shipment and it's an atomic all or nothing clears. More info:
