My iPad flew straight from Hong Kong to Memphis which is different from most others I see in this thread. Probably because Im in Canada and the iPad has yet to go through Canadian customs like it seems to do for Americans in Alaska.

Based on my experience with a few Apple purchases, they won't deliver on a Saturday.

I placed my order on May 22nd around 6pm EST (with engraving) and the ship by date was June 7 and delivered by was June 13. I now see the previous poster ordered the day after me and already has shipping confirmation...

On May 31 about 2pm EST, they did a temp auth on my card, changed the delivered by date to June 16 and I haven't seen an update since... I am even still seeing the "edit" link for the engraving on the order status page.

Anyone know why the delivered by date would slip by three days when the ship date doesn't change?

Is it typical for an engraved order to charge the card then sit for almost 3 days with no movement?

The only thing I can think of is that the holiday on May 30th may have had something to do with the delay. Incidentally, they usually do a temp auth on your card and then that falls off and they don't actually charge it until it ships. At least, that's been my experience with ordering from Apple.

I think had it been shipped on a monday it could have been a really fast turnaround. My question is: will they keep moving the package around on a Saturday and tomorrow (Sunday)? Or will it just sit in a warehouse for the weekend and not move from AK or wherever until Monday?

my iPad 2 is supposed to be shipped on the 15th of this month but according to that iPad2tracker site there are some white 32gb wifi's available at my local target(Not super close to me but close enough) the iPad 2's at target, are they most likely to have 4.3.3 on them or could they have 4.3 on them? I guess I will wait and see what happens Monday with IOS 5..I presume my new iPad 2 won't have IOS 5 on it so I don't have to worry about that but I could always cancel my order if I can purchase one closer to me

Hmm from what I am noticing people are actually getting their iPad's shipped about 5 days prior to their original ship date..so since mine says that it will be shipped on the 15th and delivered on the 21st should I assume that my iPad will actually be shipped on the 10th?? Yes lakerchick4life, that appears to be the case. I ordered my 16GB Black WiFi iPad2 with Engraving on 5/25/11 with an estimated ship of 6/9 & estimated Del. on 6/15. Mine was shipped today from China (they are 13hrs ahead of Central Time) & left the FedEx facility at 9:30PM (China Time) with an estimated delivery on 6/9/11 by 4:30PM Central Time.

My questions are-
1) Why was the estimated ship date 16 days after purchase date instead of 14, since it said ships in 1-2 weeks? Is it because I ordered on Saturday?

2) It looks based on recent posts like 5 days early is the best I can hope for? Have any shipped quicker than that? Reason I ask is I'm leaving for a trip to France on June 18, so I'm hoping beyond hope that it'll somehow arrive by then.

3) Why is there no expedited shipping option for iPads? Or is there and I missed it somehow?

4) If I'm not lucky and it does arrive while I'm gone, is there a way to get FedEx to hold it for an extended time until I'm back from vacation? I won't be back until July 8 and don't really have anyone I can ask or trust to sign for and hold it for me.

I can answer numbers two and three for you: They probably don't have it because supplies are already strained as-is. However, if you call Apple customer service and ask them if they'll do expedited shipping (2-3 day shipping) for another $12.00
I did this because I was in a similar situation (I needed my iPad quicker because I'm leaving for vacation). Hopefully calling them to add expedited shipping works out for you too.

I think they do move packages on Sunday. I say this because yesterday my iPad departed from Oakland, CA and it hasn't updated since then. But I would imagine if they didn't move on Sunday then they wouldn't have it depart on Saturday, right? It has to get to Boulder, CO. My estimated date is for Tuesday, but I hope I can get it tomorrow one day early.
