I can answer numbers two and three for you: They probably don't have it because supplies are already strained as-is. However, if you call Apple customer service and ask them if they'll do expedited shipping (2-3 day shipping) for another $12.00
I did this because I was in a similar situation (I needed my iPad quicker because I'm leaving for vacation). Hopefully calling them to add expedited shipping works out for you too.

But only when I called their support number about my order (it's in the order summary email they sent you). Although having the weekend in the middle messed it up to look longer (It is 2-3 business days for expedited shipping). Here's my tracking log so far:

My iPad just arrived in Newark, NJ, and it's going out to Long Island. It says June 8 delivery but I can't imagine it will take 3 days to get from there to LI.

Does FedEx move packages around on a Sunday? Not deliver, but move from depot to depot? If so, I could see getting it tomorrow, otherwise tuesday. Fingers crossed!!

I think you're right! Mine is on the truck for delivery! Amazing that it got from China to LI in 4 (or 3) days, depending on the date-line, +13 hours thing. SO EXCITED!

My iPad2 Arrived!!!

Yes lakerchick4life, that appears to be the case. I ordered my 16GB Black WiFi iPad2 with Engraving on 5/25/11 with an estimated ship of 6/9 & estimated Del. on 6/15. Mine was shipped today from China (they are 13hrs ahead of Central Time) & left the FedEx facility at 9:30PM (China Time) with an estimated delivery on 6/9/11 by 4:30PM Central Time.

YES...My ipad2 arrived 2 days earlier than posted when it shipped on Saturday. FedEx delivered it about 30 minutes ago. Good luck to all of you waiting for yours!! The following is the history of mine:

Well mine sat in Hong Kong without getting on 3 flights to Anchorage/Memphis, and now has sat in Anchorage and missed 2 flights to Memphis. hopefully it will get on the plane this evening and start making its way here, but I'm starting to be skeptical that they are going to hit their delivery date since tonights fedex flight doesn't get in until at least midnight and I'm a good ways away from Memphis. We'll see.

Based on other peoples tracking it looks like once theirs hit the airport in Anchorage it got on the next flight out to Memphis the same day, so I'm just lucky I guess.

It's been six days since my order status was "prepared for shipment"

When they shipped the accessories (same order) they went from Hong Kong directly to Memphis and I had them in hand 3 days after I placed the order.

It looks like Apple is still way behind on producing and shipping certain models. I ordered the 16GB wifi white on May 27. The original delivery date was June 17. But just today the delivery date was extended to June 20. The listed shipping date remains June 13. Are there carrier problems now?

Same thing happened on my order... at the same time they billed my credit card. I think it means your iPad has been built and is now off to either get engraved or get ready for shipping depending on your order. For mine (which was engraved), it took one or two days to go to prepared for shipping, another two days for me to get the ship notification, then a couple of more days to actually get put on a plane (I'm still waiting for it to leave Anchorage now though.) Once it actually got shipped the delivered by date shifted back to before the original date... it's been bouncing around a little bit since then, but it is still a week before the date they gave me on the order and 10 days before the "adjusted" date when they billed my card.

well, mine sat in China for three days, and then it made it to Alaska. Then it went to Louisville (Kentucky) where it missed its next plane (story of my personal life lol) It was supposed to be delivered today by 10:30am, UPS and its still in Louisville, so Im hoping it will make it to Miami tomorrow.
By the way, it shipped 2 days earlier than apple said, and now its being delivered 1 day sooner than apple promised. Im not a happy camper with UPS, or Apple either.
