a while back, with the very first macbooks (white core duo) incase had a bad rap for discoloring the white casing.

strange, but if you look thru the archives, you might find it.

i still put my vote for marware

i wouldn't recommend incase, its good but only for the plastic macbook. It fits the alu macbook really loosely. Maybe try the incase case for macbook air, or go for the contour reversible, this is what i use and love it. Its a really good tight fit!

Pink InCase for 13"

I'm very happy with the tucano sleeve with the accessory pouch.

I had a Tucano (black) with the cable pouch for my 12" Powerbook and it was awesome!
I got it on eBay for like $20!!! But this was YEARS ago.

This time I bought an inCase (in Pink) and I love it!
The inside is made of the coolest material. Fuzzy, almost--but not "linty"!
(and it allows me to be a little bit expressive--y'know, since it's pink!) ;)

Fabrixcases.com has some cases that are customizeable and zipperless.

I went with the fabrix Black Suit DELUXE for my Alu Macbook, it comes with an outside pocket to hold your adapter, ipod , and apple remote...

should be here by my birthday!! :D

I have the original burlap Applesac and I love it. FInding something environmentally friendly was a priority for me.

Also, if you want something custom and/or handmade, there are a ton on etsy.com in different fabrics and styles, and supporting individual crafters is always a good thing.

I have this one and I love it, I just wish there was a pouch to carry some accessories.

To the OP, the InCase has a zip but it does not scratch the laptop whatsoever I've been using it for 4 months now and I have 0 scratches on my Aluminum MacBook. There's padding that actually covers the zip while the laptop is in the case.

+1 on the incase neoprene. Bought it as soon as my alum macbook came in the mail. Zero scratches, and the padding behind the zipper is a very nice touch for people who worry about scratching up their gadgets.

foof

EDIT: If the AppleSac's lining is anything like the fleece lining in the foofbags, they won't shed at all. Also, the foofbags are 100% environmentally friendly too, like the AppleSacs. Of course, that also means they take a long time to ship, as foof sends them out in a truck, driving it's way over the ocean bottom.

To all those AppleSac lovers, are the "horror" stories about the sherpa fleece really true? Or just hogwash? I'm falling in love with that Red Delicious...

Some of them do have more dust/loose fleece than others. I ran over mine with a lint roller when I got them and I haven't ever had any trouble. I guess if you were really worried, you could clean it with a lint roller or some tape weekly, it would only take a minute to do and you'd have peace of mind.

YouSoldTheWorld, those Etsy.com bags are brilliant!

My favorite thing about Etsy is, since it's a ton of individual crafters, new ones pop up ALL THE TIME. I go and search "MacBook" every few days just to see what's new. I think it's the best choice for anyone who REALLY wants something unique.

My current favorites are the ones fashioned out of old coffee bags. Next time I have an excuse to buy a new sleeve, I want one of those!

I am selling my black Applesac for the aluminum macbooks , it's new $20 shipped to your door :D pm me

nuts I woulda jumped on this but ordered a hemp Applesac a couple days ago from amazon for $30 shipped, oh well I had amazon credit =) why are you selling btw?

anyway I came in here to suggest applesac only b/c they look awesome, but I have yet to use mine.

As for tucano, I used one on my old HP notebook, I liked it a lot, plus the extra bag was very nice. But I'm staying away from zippers now and I like the enviro friendly sleeves
