I've had an Amcrest NVR (i.e., it uses cameras wired to a dedicated DVR for both power and connectivity) for some years. I prefer having local recording over cloud based.
Problem is, Amcrest hasn't updated their viewing software in >4 years, and even what they have is just a beta, and they have stated no updates for OS X are planned (they suggested I buy a Windows PC).
Has anyone had a good experience for a DVR-based, 8 camera security system that's Mac friendly?
