Yea I saw that, it pretty much says it won't work on that thread. But someone mentioned it will work here that's why I'm asking did anyone actually got it working.

Are you sure? Read through the first 3 pages and it works just fine with the Samsung 4k. Some Dell models won't work with, but you definitely can run 4K with a Samsung unless my reading comprehension is completely bunk...

Incorrect. Only the 15"ers are capable of 60hz UltraHD. The 13's have to do a hack to even get to 50hz.

My bad - missed the 13" part. But even at 50hz - I'd argue you'd be better off with 4K display. The 50 vs 60hz is not perceptible for most people, unless you do gaming.

I bought a week ago a Samsung S27D850T 27'' (2560 x 1440 Pixel) to connect to my macbook retina 15'', but I realised after that the resolution on the display is really pixelate! :(

Don't know if the problem is cause I connected them with a HDMI cable... Maybe there's a better way...

If that is the best resolution I can get, that's really disappointing! :(

Thanks - how to connect to the Mac Mini ?

Thanks chaps. In the end I bought a Samsung S27D850T which gives me 1440p loveliness.

Hello - may I ask how you connect this Samsung screen to your Mac Mini ?
My Mac Mini is late 2012 with max 2560x1440 resolution.

I've been trying to get the full 2560x1440 resolution and sound through a Mini Display Port to Display Port - it did work once from my MacBook Air with the same full resolution, then it stopped working with the screen kind of blinking between dark and near-dark (looks like this happened when the mac and/or screen went to sleep/saving mode) ; then with the mac Mini, same thing, no way to get the image in that mode. It does work with HDMI using the MiniDisplay rot HDMI adaptor but then only in 1920x1080 resolution, and it does work in DVI but with no sound (and maybe not the full resolution either).

I also tried several minidisplayport to displayport cables but same result with all.

Any clue ?

I just used a simple mini displayport to displayport cable. Worked without effort. However, I have returned my monitor as I found it was making a ticking sound.. Amazon refunded no problems. Now have two u2515h from Dell using same cables. All works fine.

Sorry to come again : did anyone encounter the same issue and hopefully solved it ?
