I am new to the virtual machines, I have a need to run some windows only software ( ms project / Visio ) for work related usage

    I have a late 13 i7 imac, 16 gig ram and a 256 ssd , plenty of network storage

Can someone recommend best practice / recommended config for my win 7 vm

    Thanks in advance

Nothing too heavy - ms project with a few 1000+ schedule entry files

Then Fusion should work fine. Remember, under Fusion, you can edit how much RAM, Disk Space and CPU power you can dedicate to the guest OS. Hence you can dynamically adjust how many resources Windows gets accordingly.

I'd say 2GB RAM, 1 core for Windows and 30GB should work fine. If you think you might need more, like I said, adjust accordingly.
