Hi,

I received my iPhone 6plus on Friday and activated it.
Today while I was using it and listening to the radio with TuneIn, I received a message that the iPhone need to be activated.
From that time I have lost completely the signal and I´m unable to activate it through the phone or with iTunes
Anyone with the same issue??

Thanks!!!!! Help!!!!

Trying to do a full restore of the iphone......getting an error 16.
No way to restore or making it work.

The phone worked for 3 days!!!! That´s a new record!!!!

I hope that at least they will give me a new one and not a refurbished one, and they will reimburse my screen protector.

Iphone 6plus Spay Grey 64GB

I hope to be the only one with problems.:mad::mad:

Too bad this happened but it's going to when you consider the huge quantities of iPhones being built. I highly doubt you'll get a refurbed unit so soon. They'll just give u a new one.

I was wondering if you were with AT&T, up until the 'Error 16' thing. I'm sure they'll just give you a new replacement, they won't have refurbs lying around already.

im no genius, but why would this be a hardware problem? he did receive a text saying that he needs to re-activate his sim...sounds like a network problem. Have you tried to re-sit the sim tray and reset network? I guess you cant now... oh well, bring it to apple and let them deal with it...mostly like you'll get a new one. Good Luck.

Yes, AT&T.
But I made my reservation through the apple store, not AT&T.
I received the iPhone last Friday.

Yea but he can't restore the phone which means something in the phone itself, likely cellular/baseband chip, has gone wonky and can't authenticate anymore.

When I received the message of Activation needed, there was no way to exit of the Activation screen.
I tried everything with no luck.
So I could only restore it (or try) , as the activation was not working (after tried around 20 times) :(:(

Do you have another phone that takes nano-sim? Pop that sim in there and see if it works or not. If not, it's att network issue. If it does work the it's the iphone that has issue.

The phone is in DFU mode. The problem is that there is no way to restore it.
Always having the error 16 message.

Is completely stuck with the "new" DFU mode, Red Itunes Logo.

You really think AT&T has replacement iphone 6 plus models to just give out?
They dont even have any 6 plus models to sell to the public for weeks dude.
There's a 6 plus shortage everywhere. They will just send him to Apple to get it replaced. Carrier stores don't service warranty issues, the manufacturer does that.

I was referring to Apple, but I guess it wasn't clear since the first part of my sentence was talking about AT&T.

Yes, apple will replace it on the spot.
They have supplies in stock for replacements put aside cause things like that do happen. When you have millions of devices you will have asome defective ones.
But carrier stores will not have any supply at all and don't do warranty work.

After chating for more than one hour with Apple support, they tell me that I have to set up a Genius Bar reservation!!!!
So I´m not going to be able to change my phone till Friday!! (If they have any in the store)
This is not the way that I thought Apple worked.
Also I hope they will refund my screen protector (that bought at the Apple Store) or give me a new one.
Come on Apple this is your fault, not mine

Call a few other apple stores in your area to see if they have replacements put aside for defective units like yours. They should.
Or maybe call applecare and speak to a manager to make sure there's one put aside right away for you before friday.
They should of course take care of you with another screen protector and maybe throw a free case or something extra in there for the troubles.

I can tell you if you have to get a replacement it will not be a refurb as they don't exist yet!!

It might be a white box replacement but it'll be new.

That's not DFU mode. In DFU mode the screen is black. Google how exactly to do it. If you see the iTunes logo, it's not in DFU mode, it's in recovery mode. DFU bypasses the OS.

The first two times I tried to restore, I put the phone on DFU mode. Black screen but iTunes detects the phone.

Now is stucked in recovery mode. Red Itunes Logo

I tried to do everything, with the phone and the computers (reboot, reinstall iTunes, try different USB ports....)

It´s really frustrating to have the phone broken only in 3 days.:mad::apple::mad::mad:

Guaranteed I could fix it if it was in my hands. Anyways, good luck.
