I've only got one Apple product, an Ipad Mini 2. I've deleted by accident an entire conversation in Messages 🤷‍♀️ I've tried several 3rd party apps but they all say I've no iMessages in iCloud. I don't use iTunes for backups but I did have iMessages set to go to icloud. If I log into iCloud I can see under account settings for storage that I've some 10GB allocated to messages. This makes me think that the messages are still there. Do I have to wipe iPad and restore from iCloud? Would this work when 3rd party apps couldn't access any iMessages in iCloud?

Resolved - rang Apple Support. Took a while of stepping me through what I needed to do but basically had to sign out, reset ipad, sign back in and let it restore everything from icloud.

I always thought they should add a deleted messages or archive area in iMessage so that messages could be recovered if accidentally deleted. They could then be deleted automatically within 30 days or something like that (kind of like how it works for Notes). Hopefully one day they will.
