while I don't think that there is any real tangible cap on data use for unlimited plans, I still try to keep it less than 5 GB a month so I don't feel bad about tethering for free on occasion.

AT&T does have a 5GB soft cap for DataConnect plans. Maybe that is where people are getting the 5GB number
"If you are on a data plan that does not include a monthly MB/GB allowance and additional data usage rates, you agree that AT&T has the right to impose additional charges if you use more than 5 GB in a month; provided that, prior to the imposition of any additional charges, AT&T shall provide you with notice and you shall have the right to terminate your Service."

These are some people from my Data usage thread. None of these people were called by AT&T.
And they won't be. People need to stop being afraid and use the 3G data on their phones. We're paying $30 a month for that.
Haha, nice. Well, there is still the possibility that there IS the Data cap policy, however, AT&T is just really lax about enforcing it, in which case, for all intents and purposes, there is no data cap if they won't enforce it.

If they searched, they would. This is at least the second thread on this topic in the last week. They could also call ATT before starting a thread.....Nah, much easier to start a thread.
