And lossless when wired.AirPods Max with 1. USB-C, and 2. a proper travel case would be an instant buy for me!
Hopefully they bring them out soon, though. My Sony XM4s are starting to fail so I'm in the market right now for a replacement.
Nope, there's more. It will also not come standard with the headphones, but will be a separate accessory that will sell for the low price of $199. Compared to the $20 microfiber cleaning cloth, that's a bargain! So, basically, it's the Sony WH-1000XM5's case, but instead of a traditional zipper, Apple is gonna use magnets. Great!

Now that’s a good point. It isn’t as needed as AirPods because the Max last so much longer, but that would be nice. The main issue I have with the Max (which I do own and love) is not just that the case isn’t very good at doing case-y things, it’s that it’s missing a critical element of the AirPods magical sauce - the ability to top off the battery on the headphones within it. I know weight has been one of the biggest criticisms of the product, but a case that had a small built in battery that was positioned towards the headband area would give it an overall nicer weight balance when in the case, making it feel consistently weighted throughout instead of extremely heavy at one side.
This, to me, was the missing feature/oversight. I can live without the other rumored features that didn’t make it in, although I’ve always found it strange that the ear cups twist the wrong way when you put the headphones down around your neck, exposing the ear cups outwards instead of the metal enclosure. That seems like an oopsie to me.
Oh, and include the fricking 3.5mm cable. Ridiculous price gouging.
that is the high end price tag - before the XM5's were revealed to be $399, $349 was already expensive but I will agree it's easier to swallow at $399. I like mine but the weight is a big deal for me and the condensation issue when doing slight workouts; my XM4's aren't that comfortable (due to heat in the muffs) but they don't condensate like the max. But this is more of a problem in the winter time for me. Summer time no issue of condensation just the weight issue is the main problem I have. Battery life for the XM4 > the MAX for sure but the biggest gripe I got is the stupid sleep/deep sleep with these max's. The XM4 has on/off but these guys man I've had my battery drain issues too.Truth be told, I love the case. Unlike my other headphone cases, it's super thin and light so it doesn't take up any extra room. I can slip it on in a couple of seconds and throw it in my backpack.
These are great headphones. Apple just overpriced it by a $100 IMO. If they really wanted them to fly off the shelves, they should've priced them at $399.
Same, this is part of why I hated my Bose. I get why some people prefer it. But switching from other Airpods to something else I'd just end up with 0 battery.I can do without that.
It’s kind of annoying on my Sony XM4’s to switch them on and off. Occasionally I’ll forget to switch them off and the battery will be part drained from leaving them on all day.
Welcome to the internet circa 1995.It doesn't matter what Apple does here, people are going to complain about it.
"I hate the current design of the case, its awful."
"This new design is just a copy of other manufacturers designs (even though its what I said I wanted in a case). Where is the innovation!!"
Its a freaking headphones case. The case now is really not bad. It takes up very little space and protects the important parts of the headphones. I swear people just want a reason to complain about things.
Doesn't that kill the battery?Never used the case not even once
Don’t know don’t care just charge when neededDoesn't that kill the battery?
Nice!Don’t know don’t care just charge when needed
