Really? Never seen it before...then again I've never really used it when needing directions. Thanks for this tip!

Cheers! :)

It is not as great as the Apple Maps solution though, it's more like a local notification which tells you what to do next.

I guess I'll be that guy.

Thank you to all the people whose efforts and hard work made this possible. Now my iPad mini rocks that much more! :D

Apple maps has something Google does not... it makes you laugh. 40% of the times the address is wrong, it takes me to the wrong place or will not find nor interpret the address right. It is very tricky/ risky.

My personal favorite is when I enter an address, and instead of finding it on the map, it opens the app store and shows me a list of other mapping apps (as opposed to just telling me there is some problem with the address). Like it has an inferiority complex...

I try to use apple maps every once in a while (I like the siri integration) to see if it will get me places.

The past couple of weeks it has been horrible. I have had to switch back to google maps.

I soon as I saw this article, I knew there was going to be some biased Google-hating Apple-loving comment...

I prefer Apple maps.

^ It was the first comment. Not bad. Ya'll are improving, I usually I have to wait until at least the third comment to read the typical Apple propaganda.

Meanwhile at Google...

:p

Apple, Microsoft, and pretty much every other company does the same thing. I don't really care though since there are millions of people on their server and the odds of them singling me out for ANYTHING are terrible. If Google wants to show ads that might interest me I am all for it.

Apple Maps has NEVER improved for Hong Kong. Despite numerous report from a lot of users for an obvious mistake (placing a CBD subway station on a beach), it's still there after a year.

Don't worry, just a bit of fun. I couldn't resist.

Tip 2: Zoom to the area you want, and type "OK Maps" (without the quotes) to the search bar.

Boom!

Offline maps. :D:D:D:D

You're in an Apple forum. Why don't you go to the Xbox forum and complain people are loyal to their Xbox. Or the BMW forum and complain people are loyal to BMW. What do you expect? Go away.

Agree 100%.

We welcome Google Maps to Hong Kong today! :D

Apple Maps still doesn't have its act together, but will reroute when you can't follow its directions. Google Maps has excellent data, but cannot reroute. BlackBerry Maps on my Q10 has great data and rerouting, but is brain dead when it comes to business names.

"... Even in the future, nothing works!"

So in your dictionary if somebody "PREFERS" something, he is a biased hater? Interesting concept...

I honestly can't get over how confusing Google Maps can be to get turn-by-turn going. I know I can't be the only one here... I just use apple maps instead. It's pretty similar to the original maps app and I can bring it up easily with Siri. Although I could just tell Siri to get me transit directions via Google maps however, Google keeps giving me an error stating that transit information is still not available in my area... Live in Miami.........

I use Apple maps almost daily since it was released. Only led me wrong two times. The first was about a block off. The second was a complete miss. Maybe the maps are just better in California.

"I prefer Apple Maps" is now Google-hating propaganda?

I found it unbearable enough around here when simply criticizing Uncle Google was cause for mob justice. Now a mild statement of preference for an Apple product on Mac Rumors has become out of bounds?

This is freaking ridiculous.
