... Why would a mouse have voice control when it’s connected to a device that will already have voice control?
Why would you want a scroll wheel and not a touch surface like the current iteration?
Please can I right-click on this one with my pointer finger still resting on the left side of the mouse?
Trackpads have their uses, but they're not ideal for every application. I still prefer using a mouse for certain tasks on my computer.I honestly think that anyone that wants to use a mouse on a Mac should just use the Magic Trackpad instead.
I work with a lot of novice computer users in both Mac and PC worlds, and I have to say that it is generally only the novice Mac users who seem to get confused by contextual menus and the idea of right-clicking. Apple's insistence on hiding the right-click under settings and within gestures and "hidden" sensors is probably a good reason for this. Contextual menus are very helpful and are generally just another menu that pops up, so I don't really understand why Apple continues to act like they are some kind of unintuitive voodoo trick that should be kept hidden from the uninitiated. It really doesn't take any amount of explanation to teach people that a different button does a different thing. Many users that I help do basic computer things for don't even understand what a right click is, so I totally understand why Apple disables it by default, to avoid people having the context menu pop up all the time without them knowing why.
Ahh, looks like I got a bit mixed up in Apple's naming conventions here.Actually, the Magic Mouse dropped support for the squeeze gesture that the Mighty Mouse had. One of my favorite features, and one of the main reasons I don't like using the Magic Mouse compared to the older Mighty Mouse. The two finger swipes to get to Mission Control on the Magic Mouse never worked as reliably or quickly as the squeeze on the Mighty Mouse.
I agree. The option to use the mouse while charging would really be nice. I have no need for a wireless keyboard, so wired is fine for me.That aside, hopefully it's designed in a way where you could use it wired full time if you'd like
I vastly prefer using wired peripherals at my desktop
Built in laser pointer...They are obviously holding back the obvious mouse features for the future: multitool with mini screwdriver & scissors, hot plate to keep your tea warm, milk dispenser for tea, wifi access point, and fidget spinner.
I have three MX Master 2s for Mac's and I love them, too! So feature rich for a moues to enable gestures and almost all the functions on trackpad!hate trackpads
mx master is the way to go

Honestly, I'm having a hard time thinking of what features among "all of the features" a presenter would want to use in this scenario where voice commands would be beneficial over just using the mouse like a mouse. So that you can still use all of the features of your computer without having to be right next to it, such as when you're presenting from the opposite end of a conference room,
If Apple were really doing this for HTPC purposes, they'd resurrect Front Row and create an updated remote control design instead. Integrating this into the mouse doesn't make a lot of sense.or using a Mini in a sight-unseen "home theater PC" configuration, installed behind a wall mounted TV.
While I don't doubt that it is a Mac vs. Windows user difference of preference, I would argue that games have very little to do with PC users preferring physical scroll wheels. As vocal as gamers are, they are still nowhere near the majority of PC users out there and they are certainly not the reason why scroll-wheels were added to mice nor are they the reason why scroll wheels are still included on mice. This one is arguably a Mac vs Windows issue; it is my observation that PC users typically rely upon that scroll wheel an awful lot more than Mac users, most particularly PC gamers. The touch surface may be technically superior in almost every way, but it still doesn't quite match the feel of a scroll wheel.

what's a wire?Sounds really expensive

I'm willing to bet money this is nothing more than a dedicated button to trigger Siri.So it will double as a mic?
Honestly it's not a bad idea if they expect this mouse to be used for presentations and the like.
