I would highly recommend you use Pwnage Tool for your hacking needs. Much safer and much more streamlined. Redsn0w is the quick way to do it, but the Dev team recommends you use Pwnage instead.

I had the same problem "unable to recognize specified ipsw" , but thank God now it's solved. i searched for 4 days but thank god finally i have founded the correct solution.
