Hi,

I'm looking to get a new MBP 15 and have a couple of options:

Brand New 2019 - £2,799:
2.3GHz 8-core 9th-generation Intel Core i9 processor
16GB Ram
512GB SSD

or

Refurb 2018 - £2,899:
2.9GHz 6-core (8th-generation?) Intel Core i9 processor
32GB Ram
1TB SSD

Which one would you guys/girls go for out of those two?

Unless you must by right now you might want to wait a few months until the supposed 16 MBP replacement will ship.

Thanks, but yeah it is a needed asap sort of purchase.

If you’re going Core-i9, I would wholeheartedly recommend the new 2019 due to the improved thermals and keyboard.

I wonder if the 2018 thermal issues would have been rectified during the refurb process?

The refurb process is mostly replacement of external components. The thermal issue will not be improved. No contest, get the 2019, I have a custom config being built right now.

I'd go for the refurb. More bang for your buck and you still get the same warranty....
