Has anyone ever received a refurb with any cosmetic scratches or other slight damages?

I'd love to be really lucky and get a brand new one that was just returned due to anything other than fault, so it'd be flawless.

I've bought quite a few refurbs from Apple and every one of them looked and performed as new.

The only difference was the box they came in. Very plain box but since that box went to the trash soon thereafter, who cares!! :)

Good stuff!

I wouldn't doubt Apple's high standards would rub off on ensuring near-flawless refurbs too.

Excited to place the order during the week now!

As stated in my first post in this thread:
A refurb product could have some cosmetic signs of prior use, but rarely do
Your chances of getting one with no visible signs of wear are very good. Many refurbs were returned before being opened, because the buyer changed their mind.

Here's hoping! :)

I would've gone down the new route, but have had a few bills and the price drop on the model I want didn't happen.

Ah well, if I get a model like you described, I'll be laughing!

Remember, they have a 14 day no-questions-asked return policy, just like new Macs. If you get one that's not acceptable to you, you can simply return it.

4 anecdotes
You still don't get it do you? You can pull up all the cherry picked anecdotal "evidence" you want, but that doesn't make it any less invalid in a proper discussion.

It really goes to show how you motivate your point when instead of being even slightly scientific with your picking of anecdotal evidence, you willfully ignore the two people IN THIS THREAD who have posted about their refurbs failing on them. This the reason why anecdotal evidence is not considered valid proof in a proper discussion, it's simply too easy to manipulate it to tell the story you want to.
