I think there might be an issue where some folks see other components beyond the battery as consumables. No thermal wear and tear. **edit also lightening port wear, button wear, etc...**I'm not of this camp but I do think its a valid perspective.

The battery and outer shell are always new but some other parts may be new too. Apple states that they thoroughly clean and inspect the device and will replace other parts as needed. Add to that the same-as-new 1 year warranty, optional AC+, etc. and Apple's certified refurbished devices are pretty much brand new.

Does anyone know when Apple will replenish the refurbished iPhone 13 Pro 256 GB (Silver) stock. I checked yesterday and was disappointed to see they ran out. Thanks.

Again, I think we're on the same side here. Refurbished is a good deal. But you had to use the words "may be new too" as they have been replaced "as needed." So again, I have to reiterate: to some folks, this is reason enough to avoid refurbished. Refurbished does not equal new. If refurbished = new, then apple would have a bit of a problem on its hands.
