Although I want there to be a jailbreak for iOS 5, I'm gonna try to stay stock
At first just so that I can properly try out the new iOS 5 features before I apply jailbreak tweaks.

I think Apple realizes that Jailbreaking is good for business and good for the community. They could nail down the OS if they wanted to, but it seems obvious they're turning a blind eye. They're only interest is that the OS as they release it, is safe and secure.

Hell, they get most of their features out of the jailbreak community.

Apple does not embrace jail breaking. Sorry to break the illusion.

They will be plugging every possible hole with delta updates in iOS 5 as soon as they are found. You can count on that.

Jobs made some very specific remarks about security in iOS being a top priority, and he views these exploits as critical to plug.

I read more about Comex's hire and he did intend to become a part time intern so he can finish college. He certainly doesn't seem as intimidating as before when I thought he would head Apple's security team as an "intern" .

Based on comex's reputation Apple isn't about to (even as an employee now) give him full access to the source code for fear he might leak info to somebody else.

It would be like if a company hired an ex-con who had done time for grand theft, would you give that guy full information on how the security at your warehouse is setup with guard schedules, location of cameras, etc.? Probably not... at least not until he had been working there for a while.

Comex being hired means he will not be able to work on a JB since that would get him fired, but they are not going to turn over the keys to the kingdon to him either.

Previously hackers have been able to release jailbreaks every couple of months(tethered and untethered) for iOS up till now.

With iOS 5 going to be released soon, some people will once again jailbreak their phones but with the news that Comex(Allegra) has been hired by Apple, I began to ponder whether there will even be an iOS5 jailbreak.

Sure iOS5 beta jailbreak has been released as tethered but everyone wants an untethered one. With comex being a well known hacker and a very good one that is working for the opposite side, I just can't help but think how he will be able to patch up any holes and make sure that codes/firmware will be "unjailbreakable" and that iOS 4.3.5 may be the last full jailbreak for a while if not forever.

Has anyone else thought about the possibility that iOS 5 can not be jailbroken since Comex won't be catching flaws but also build up Apple's defense.

Or iOS 5 can be jailbroken but it will be quite longer and even longer for untethered?

Or does anyone think that there are dozens if not hundreds of people trying to release jailbreaks so Apple's attempt to stop jailbreaking by hiring Comex will be ineffective.

Note-I felt it was more appropriate to be posted in iphone general forum rather than iphone hacks not for increased views but for a more diverse group of readers.

Are you kidding me?

Why is this thread moved to a sub forum?

I stated a legitimate reason for this to be in general forum , yet it got moved?

i read somewhere but i believe they have 6-8 exploits that work on the a5 (ipad 2) so it will work with the iphone 5 or w/e the heck it's called :) granted these are userland exploits so will be easily patched with a firmware update
