I think in your situation the best thing is to sell it and get a brand new macbook with student account.
I think nobody will like to trade your Envy with his MBP.
If you are a casual gamer the MBP is ok. Don't expect high-end graphics.
Windows run very well on a MBP but the battery will drain much faster then in OS X.
If you get used to OS X you'll hardly run windows again, except for some games.

Mate, you sound like me before I got a laptop. I wanted to play games on it and was into PC gaming big time.

Then I got a laptop (15"mbp) and didn't bother much with the gaming because I didn't want the hassle of bootcamp and there wasn't much other choice.

Sold it to get a desktop gaming machine. Big mistake, I'd just thought the grass would be greener and that's the case of a lot of people (buyers remorse).

Watch out for thinking this because if you like gaming then you probably have the best device already and it all evens out in the long run...which means come 3 months time it won't matter if you had a MBP or Envy (you will understand the pro's and con's of both and be happy with what you have).

I now have a 13", it is goodish for gaming but won't ever be amazing. I had to sell the desktop though, I didn't bother gaming as much as I thought I would. I bet you won't either!!!

This. Before I used to trash Apple products at every chance.

When I got my Macbook Pro, I immediately committed 150 gigs to a Windows partition. I used it mainly for gaming.

As time passed, and my interests changed, I slowly stopped using the partition, until I finally deleted it.

Now all I have is a Parallels Virtual Machine for the rare case that I need to run some incompatible program.
