iPhone X Regular Xs or Xs MAX?!

I went from 7 Plus -> X and I really miss the extra screen estate when web browsing and watching videos.

I thought the actual screen on the X is the same as, or slightly larger than, the Plus... it's just that the Plus has a larger overall physical footprint. Is that not the case?

If you love the size of the 8+, I think it's a no brainer. XS Max.

I bought the 8+ last year - upgraded from a 6+. I picked up the X in mid Nov.. (planned on selling the 8+)

The X was a nice phone, I just liked the bigger size. AND I also missed Landscape mode.
Ended up returning the X in early Jan. Kept the 8+. I'm ordering the XSM tonight

The X is longer vertically so you got some additional screen estate there. But you miss a lot of content (width) on certain webpages and views.

16:9 videos on the X are 13% larger than the iPhone 8. 5” diagonal vs 4.7”. The Max will be 22% larger than the X at 5.53” diagonal vs 5” of the X.

Jetcat do you happen to know if that 13% is due to the video being longer on the X vs the 8? Because while the video fills the entire screen of the 4.7” 8, it is letterboxed on the X given the 19.5:9 ratio, and likely to avoid the notch, giving me the impression that height would be even less than on the fully filled 4.7” display.

I’m coming from a 7+ and found the X to be too small. I’m used to phablets so XS Max for me!

Don't make the same mistake I made. I went from 6+ to X and the size downgrade bothers me so much, that I have to upgrade again this year to get the XsMax.

The 13% extra space on the X is when the video does not fill up the entire screen on the iPhone X. 16:9 video is a little bit bigger than on the iPhone 7/8. The difference is that those iPhone’s are already 16:9 aspect ratios.

Max all the way, for some I never enjoyed media consumption on the X 5.8” screen as it looks too tall and not too wide.
