Okay, this is for anyone who is into creating wallpapers specifically designed to be viewed on the iPhone. I made a PSD file showing the unlock screen on the iPhone. All you have to do is modify the background layer and you'll get an instant live preview of how your wallpaper will look on the iPhone. I pretty much had to create this mostly from scratch.

I've posted some previews. None of these are actual screenshots of the iPhone... these is straight from my PSD template file.

Enjoy and don't be afraid to leave a nice comment for me ;)

UPDATE: I edited the top overlay image to have a 1px black line under it like the real iPhone. If you want, you can re-download the zip file attached.

that's a pretty good job there. i just wish we could change the home screen background without having to jailbreak the phone.

    Thanks!

I had downloaded a single-layer template with the areas color-coded, but I thought why not search for a real latered PSD? Sure enough I found one!

Very useful for my upcoming wallpaper in the style of Battlestar Galactica's computer displays (with Colonial seal of course).

Just don't forget to turn the template layers off when you export :)

I wanted to HIDE the normal transparent iPhone top/bottom bars, and your template helped me do that. My Colonial Seal wallpaper (here with screenshots) has a black background (minimizes those bars) and a border that seems to be unaffected by the bars.

I just created the border, turned on your overlay (which darkened the top/bottom of the border), and then filled a black rectangle in the middle of the screen, adjusting the alpha to darken the border just the right amount.

My yellow border became a dark gold in practice, but at least it does appear to surround the screen without interruption.

(FYI, in case anyone didn't realize, the iPhone "in-call" screen follows the exact same layout and dimensions, just with two buttons in the space of the slider.)

You don't need a high rez version since it's just a template. Double the portions on each side and you already have an iP4 one.
