You say the Mac App Store version will have LAN multiplayer….. between Macs and PCs in the same LAN? Please say so! :D (I have a mixed Mac-PC household).

Yes, Mac/PC LAN is available on App Store and Steam! :D

Enjoy!

Edwin

You should get a wheel! It's the only way of playing driving sims.

I agree but i travel a lot and so being able to move about with my macbook + a good F1 game and a controller is excellent!! just not sure which controller to buy or where to get the drivers from.

Just not sure which controller to buy or where to get the drivers from.

Most don't need drivers (only 360 pads do). We have quite a list as of today we have 143 pads that work in Feral games....

If your pad isn't in the list just email our support adding another pad isn't too hard :)

thanks very much. didn't have the sense to go visit your site and click support.... more than enough help on there!
Roll on thursday :D

Just to clarify:

I assume that are the well-known tattiebogle drivers?

What does "manually modified" mean in this context?

Yes the tattiebogle drivers are the only working drovers on the Mac.

Manually modified means manually editing the Tattie drivers to add in the USB ID of the third party pad.

Edwin

p.s. Did you know tattiebogle comes from Scotland and means Scarecrow? #NowYouKnow:)

----------

Nothing showing up yet. It's been the 6th for almost 8 hours in the UK!

The game is live (as planned) from midnight on MAS. As per our posts Steam will be live during the day most likely around 10AM. Got to go I have a err.. launch to do at 10AM ;)

I certainly knew that. Used it a lot in my schoolboy days in Inverness!

Good news! I won't buy on MAS as there is no multiplay.
If bought on Feral site, do you just provide a Steam key, or is it a straight download like like in the past?

----------

It's on Steam now! Downloading as we speak.

Hehe

You can play LAN (Mac v.s. PC) just no online due to Online game matching requiring Steam.

Feral site is Steam key.

Really, I hadn't noticed... ;) Oh wait perhaps that's related to me pressing the "Publish" button in Steam Admin? Who knows :D

Game On!

Edwin

Been playing for a couple of hours now. Everything looks good. Too early to tell what the subtle differences are between this and 2012, but only time will tell.

This game uses full CoreGL profile (DX10) level graphics, the previous release used LegacyGL (DX9 standard graphics). It means things like reflections and other particle effects look smoother.

The main big one is cross platform multiplayer and online RaceNet support on Steam :)

Edwin

Yep, the graphics look nicer. No doubt about that, and smooth as hell @2560x1440 with everything maxxed.
In my previous post, by 'differences', I meant the driving ones!

Yeehaa!

Bought it, Downloading it, Now impatiently waiting for it... :D

Didn't get much playing time last night, but it does look great. Love the old Lotus JPS. Tempted to ditch my PS3 controller as I'm missing the force-feedback.

Can anyone recommend the best controller for feeling those rumble-strips?!

The only controller on the Mac with Rumble support is a 360 gamepad with the tattiebogle drivers. The game has full support for rumble if the pad has valid drivers.

Does multiplayer work against PC players? If so, which version should I buy? The Apple store version or the Steam version?

I mentioned this a few posts up the thread but just to confirm they both support Mac/PC but only the Steam version has online multiplayer.

Mac App Store is LAN only.
