Still use my AppleTV 3rd gen daily. Works fine with Netflix, prime video, AppleTV+.. It's had a good run and it's served me well. I'll just use it until no one supports it anymore
Apple today informed Apple Authorized Service Providers that it will be adding its AA battery charger and the third-generation Apple TV to its vintage products list on October 31, according to a memo obtained by MacRumors.

Introduced in July 2010, the Apple Battery Charger was priced at $29 and included six rechargeable AA batteries for use with the original Apple Wireless Keyboard, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse for the Mac. Apple discontinued the charger around 2016 and the Magic accessories now have built-in batteries that can be recharged via Lightning.
The third-generation Apple TV was released in March 2012 and many third-party apps have already phased out support for the device. The third-generation model is also the last Apple TV that does not run tvOS, and thus lacks access to the App Store.
In the past, vintage Apple products were no longer eligible for repairs at the Genius Bar or at Apple Authorized Service Providers, but Apple now provides service for up to seven years on vintage products, subject to parts availability.
The original Apple Watch was added to Apple's vintage products list last week.

I believe they all do that. At least all the ones I've had.I still use mineand one of the great design features is both batteries go in pointing the same way
or do all chargers do that :-(
I Have a Kyosho mini-Z used to use sony's on it, but Eneloops are considerably better on every aspect. I don't know the magic behind it but Eneloops are fantastic even on the fast discharge cicles that those mini cars use, providing way more punch to it on a constant rate trough the run. Never had the apple charger, never knew about it, but for my eneloops i'm using a ISDT N8 And I'm very happy with it even trough this charger is more designed for RC hobbysts and kinda overkill for charging your remotes AAs.I'm still using mine (including the original batteries), so I'd say that $29 investment was a good one.
They were essentially rebranded "Eneloop" batteries. Eneloop batteries are still sold, and are now the only rechargeable batteries I buy.
Hey Jr !, Still using mine and all 6 original batteries. 2 in mouse, 2 in keyboard and two in charger waiting for which ever needs them first.I'm still using mine (including the original batteries), so I'd say that $29 investment was a good one.

Well yes those are the options. “It’s like your holding it wrong” I work 10 hours at a desk no break so….. I have to plan how long till I need to charge it and if I forget I can’t use it at all was my point. it’s a mouse my computer is useless with out I’d rather buy batteries they have the headache. Better engineering would allow it to be plugged in and still be used.Plug it in when you go on a coffee break? Or when you go out to lunch? Or at night before you go to bed? 🤔
I do to and I still use it with same batteries and charger. They still hold a good charge. Have to say it was a great purchase 10 years ago since I still use it and not a single hiccup.Still have it, and even have the 4 batteries that I bought with it.
