It's probably the cyan tone to some of the trees. The overcast day made for some odd colors over there.

It's not the colors, it's almost as though there is a fisheyeish effect over that part of the picture.

Hmm...weird. That's actually what it looks like there. This wasn't very wide angle so there's no distortion issues.

Now, now, let's get our misguided design woes in the right order. "The System 7/Mac OS 8-style humanity" is what you meant to say. What can I say? I love the cats. And, hey, it worked on those low-resolution Macintoshes, why can't it work in today's high-res world? Or would you have me crank my resolution down to 640x480?

EDIT: And besides, I normally have bunches of windows cluttering my screen anyway, so I only see a few catheads or stars popping around the corners of my windows. It's nice to have a contrast of cat heads and stars, y'see. It keeps the mind alert.

I see what you're getting at. I think it's because that 'bowl' shape there is so different from the rest of the treeline.
