Ironically, Mega.co.nz says they respect the copyright of others and that you must not upload illegal files.

Ironically again, that is what everyone uses it for due to it's large file size limit for free. Most people use it to pirate large files to people.
I get your sarcasm, but I am not worried about illegal file upload, but about the security of ones data (especially, when people say, they don't use Dropbox, because your data isn't save) ;)

As a plus, I don't think it is save to share illegal stuff over that portal, when the police is already having an eye on what that guy is doing.


PS: "Communication logs, traffic data, site usage and other information related to us supplying the services” and “Any personal information included in data uploaded to our system” are stored. This data can be sold to “authorised resellers and service providers”. The encryption does not make the user anonymous.
