I think that Pride braided band is a lovely piece of design. The braided bands I have bought so far have quickly become my most-worn bands as they're so comfortable.
I think the lug width is slightly wider than the case on S3 and earlier.. I believe the actual latch works still, however. I wondered the same since I was considering one of the braided loops for my S3 when they were released. How would a watch band not be compatible with older watches? Did they slightly modify the latch mechanism or is it just the watch face that’s incompatible?
That’s because the silver connector is visible on series 0-3.How would a watch band not be compatible with older watches? Did they slightly modify the latch mechanism or is it just the watch face that’s incompatible?

The non-braided Solo Loops are $49. And you can have them be not-tight while simultaneously having zero chance of falling off, unless your hand is decidedly smaller in diameter than your wrist - the stretch is, hmm, robust (it takes substantial effort to stretch enough to get past your thumb and palm), yet when they "retract" to their base size, that can be just slightly bigger than your wrist. (For the record, I want my watch close-fitting without actually being constricting - don't want it to slide around.)I was kinda floored. That's a lot for a 'stretchy band' IMO.
TANGENT: I've noticed that some people wear their wrist gadgets tight, and some wear them loose. For some reason, I'm in the later group. I HATE tight things on my wrist, but I'm not into floppy stuff either. It's got to be 'just right', (which makes eating very salty foods a hassle). The idea of a 'stretch band' does appeal to me, but if it's too stretchy, the band seems likely to stretch enough and fall off, so I'm in a quandary. But for $100, I'm safe from this band (or any of the other bands too apparently).
How much are the other stretch bands? (performing for my monkey today is, ME!) So they are ALL $100? Well, okay. I guess I didn't realize that would be a thing. Hmm... The price seems more than a little 'out there👽👽👽'...
God that’s ugly. Sorry not my style. Black band only for me. The one that came with the watch.
I'm guessing people didn't realize you were being serious and took this as a slam on diversity signifiers generally. Quite a few people have reacted to prior Pride bands with comments along the lines of, "if you are going to make a band for The Gays, are you also going to make one for [insert other group]?" That's initially where I thought you were going as well. The braided one includes additional colors:
- Black for the Black community
- Brown for the Hispanic / Latinx community
- Pink, light blue, and white for the trans community
That’s why it has more colors.
If you just want the regular rainbow, they are also offering that style of band (not pictured here).
Edit: Really? Downvotes on a post explaining why the band was designed the way it was?
Also first time pride band buyer and this photo sold me
Looking sharp.Don't get the hate. It looks awesome!View attachment 1781414
It's a really nice design. More like this, Apple.
yeah, just bought something similar from the Chinese for $8. We'll see...I can only imagine the execs sat in offices, crying, doubled up with laughter, with the knowledge that people will pay $/£99 for a braided strap that probably cost less than $1 to make.
I mean, they are nice, but again, laughably poor value.

I have a couple of the non-braided Solo Loops and they're the most comfortable bands I own (seriously), but I ordered one Braided Loop, a year(ish) ago, and despite being the same (numerical) size, it was ever so slightly looser (not falling off loose, just moving around loose), and I ended up sending it back. It's complicated because they have nine different sizes, and, just like a belt, you may be in between two sizes - they're pretty close together, but it can still make a difference in how it feels. It'll be a lot easier to judge if the band is right for you, and which size is right, in an Apple Store, but that hasn't been an option for most of the past year. When I finally get back into an Apple Store one of these days, I may try this band out (because I'm happy to show support for my gay friends and because the band is fabulous).
Here, I helped youHow can I downvote this?
