I m glad I jumped in when it was open. Of all the people who got their unlocks. I think I paid the least! :)
Let's hope our phones stay this way.

good for you guys i would still suggest do not upgrade to new firmware as soon as they come out

Guys, I think it might be officially over, at least for AT&T customers. I just noticed on my bank account that I've been refunded the amount I paid, even though I never asked for a refund.

Negri just updated saying that service is not dead but that the servers are overloaded. They are reassuring customers that they can cancel for a full refund if they can't put up with the delay in processing.

Get your refund before it's overloaded. They are living in dreamland. I have seen false promises from them before.

Hmm, I don't know what's up with Negri... first, they refunded my order without my asking. Then they seemed to have deleted their last blog update where they said everything was okay, and just a little delayed.

Looks like AT&T customers are out of luck.. Damn, I wanted in :-/

Maybe they don't want to say that at&t closed the loop. I always suspected it has been AT&T whom don't want to unlock iPhones as Apple doesn't seem to care about submitting these IMEI unlock registrations into their databases.

AT&T shame on you :(

Nope, the blog post is still there.

BUT, the lead to the database is gone :/ I don't know "who" said it was a delay to Negri, but all other sellers say otherwise.

For ur info, the blog post:

Update 3:12PM PST 4/20/2011 – Happy 420 to all of our Customers. A quick update to let you know the status of your order. First of all, this isn’t a “scam”. Often times people abuse the word. A “Scam” is by definition “to deprive of by deceit“. Anyone that knows our company knows that this is not what we are about. At any time you are able to cancel your order for a full refund. This goes not only for the unlocking service but for phones as well. There are a few instances where we can not cancel, as in if your order has already shipped or been submitted for processing. You can check the status of your order at any time. For the iPhone Unlocking orders if you have placed your order and not yet received an email that your device is unlocked you are free to cancel at any time. With that being said, we have had a small amount of customers cancel, which is good. We know that you have heard that the service is “dead“. Our sources tell us otherwise. We are being told that there is a “delay“. We have received word that the service should be up and running in the next 2-3 days. Our assumption is that the source is severely overloaded, organizing the requests and will do a bulk submit when they have everything in place. We realize that this isn’t great news, however it will allow you to clear your head about the service being “dead“. If we confirm that this is true, we will post this information immediately. Our goal is to provide you, the customer, the most up to date information available. We also strive to provide the best service humanly possible. Please fill out this form if you would like to cancel your order. We will process cancellations in the order in which they were received. Please allow 3-4 days to be refunded. We have no intention of keeping your money, if you do not feel comfortable waiting please allow us to cancel the order for you. We do plan to provide the service to all of the IMEI’s that were submitted and if that changes we will be updating you here. Please email us if you still have questions after reading this post.

There was no "verdict". The suit was settled. There's a difference.

You're also not "directed" to do anything when you agree to a settlement... you're explicitly agreeing to do something. Nobody's directing anything.

Whatever.

There's no difference to me or any other AT&T iPhone user if AT&T won't unlock the iPhone.

I'm glad I got my AT&T iPhone factory unlocked when the unlock first went on sale. I threw caution to the wind and went for it and it came through. Those of you waiting being "cautious" missed out.

Apple now selling unlocked GSM iPhone 4 in US, starting at $649

Will at&t unlock the iPhones?

If the dumb ****s that run AT&T were smart enough, they could make some serious money out of unlocking iPhones for a reasonable price (up to $50.00 per phone IMO).

I'd have to agree. In my case, I've had my iphone4 for a year. I've paid my bill for a year. And, if I were to cancel, I'd have to pay a hefty ETF. Why NOT let me give them 50-75 bucks to unlock my phone. My next phone will be unsubsidized. That much I know.

This might work at the end of the contract, but they make tons more money from your monthly bill than they would from unlocking all the iphones on their network.
And right now, unlocked iphones are useless in the US... Just sayin' :)

If you're under contract, they're going to make the money off the monthly bill anyway.

By the time the 4G iphone comes out next year, there will be 3 players left. AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, and the US version wont have a removable sim, and probably locked to only those three. So yea, you can pay full price, chose any of those three carriers without a contract, but pay through the nose for month to month. There are no real choices.

Some grey market AT&T remote unlockers are back. Are last year buyers still unlocked? It seems like the only iPhone 4 unlock solution for ios 5 update.
Is there anyone tried this year? Thanks.

PS cutyoursim has now been closed
