Removed Unlimited Data Plan to upgrade on ATT

Is everyone else getting this? Is it expected that to upgrade to 4s we have to give up the grandfathered unlimited data plan I've had since 2007?
 
Adam of MacCast tweeted same thing.

If this is the case. I am finally done with AT&T and going to Verizon.
 
I finally got through on Apple, and it doesnt give me the option of unlimited data if that is what you mean
 
No way. They can't do that. I haven't gotten that far. The only reason I'm with AT&T is because I can keep my unlimited data plan.
 
I'm getting the same thing. Damned if I'm putting up with that. Closing out the screen without completing order, and going to bed.
 
What the hell it is not giving me the option for unlimited only the 2GB, 4GB etc..... UGH
 
Yep after battling for hours on end about early upgrade eligibility and not getting it now I get this. A complete slap in the face... I am so over AT&T.
 
No Luck Yet

My first attempt -- at 12:05am pacific -- got all the way to the screen asking for credit card info.

There was a message saying the "data plan must be changed", however the "new" data plan listed was the "Data Plan for Iphone, $30/mo" which is the unlimited.

Put in credit card info, waited, got a "Gateway Timeout". :mad:

All successive attempts, for that line and another line, get "P1234" error.
 
i think its only offering unlimited at $30 for those who are grandfathered in, makes sense right?
 
I've gotten to the data plan and unlimited WAS still there..continue to have errors past that though

It removes the Unlimited for iPhone and then on the next screen you can select Unlimited for iPhone 4S. Of course you have to already have an unlimited data plan.
 
It removes your "iPhone 4" unlimited data plan, but you have the option to add the "iPhone 4S" unlimited data plan on the next screen.

This message scared the crap out of me too. I went on faith that I wouldn't be losing my unlimited plan.

This. So, we can keep the unlimited data. Whew.

BUT, the f---ers took my 1000 text messages! I now have to pay $10 more for unlimited, when I rarely use more than 700 a month!

I got to the data plan page (I am grandfathered) and it only gave me options for lower plans... does it come back up after that page?
 
I did not expect to be able to keep my unlimited, so the message didn't scare me, but the next screen let me get "unlimited for 4S" so yay!

I'm one of those people who doesn't use that much data anyway, but with iCloud, who knows how much I'll use in the future. Nice, being grandfathered in, even if they try to trick you into dropping it.
