I usually manage to get them out before they dry, but I have a shirt with a couple-day-old blood stain that won't go away. I've already tried laundry detergent and bleach and peroxide and pretty much everything I found on Google.
Got any pointers?
It's a light blue cotton shirt.
Thanks in advance![]()
hmmm. my grandma used to do this to my grandpa's shirt collars and it worked really well.
You'll need a few things.
A toothbrush
Boiling water (or damn close)
Some kind of protein absorbing substance, (grandma used lemon juice) I think more modern stuff will work better e.g. Shout or the Tide Pen,
Steps:
1 Dip toothbrush in hot water. Attack stain w/ toothbrush to loosen any solid blood particles from the cloth.
2. Once you get all you can w/ just the toothbrush add a small amount of really hot water on the stain & again w/ the toothbrush. (don't be too gentle)
3. Apply more hot water to the affected area. Now add the protein remover ( use a small amount) and again w/ the toothbrush.
Hope it works for you.
