So i was searching for some videos about how to install the slickwraps naked skin and stumbled on this video about a guy that removes the skin after a wrong fitment and look what happened...

Do you think this will happen with all skins? For ex BSE?

Im really worried right now on which skin to buy... :/

This happened to my coworker last week. It's a reminder that Apples Premium Quality tends to be little more than a myth...

This was reported by another forum member a week ago. It removed the print off the back of their Jet Black iPhone.

It seems it only happen to the JB variant, sine it has a different engraving system due to the particular finish.

Anyone recommends a nice side only bumper for the jb?

I'm pretty sure that's not an engraving since adhesive would have to remove layers of the surrounding material to flatten out the area and have the engraving disappear. As others have said: it is printed on and is most likely coming off due to how the ink bonds with the new finish.

Here is a thread about bumpers: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/why-is-it-so-hard-to-find-a-real-bumper.1994668/

"Engraving" would be a misnomer here. More like painting.

Seems like a neat trick one can use for making the back of the JB look even cleaner. Lord knows Apple themselves would prefer to not print regulatory info on the back of their phones anyways.
