Isn't it supposed to be all or mostly all renewable energy heating and cooling these buildings?

Still though, it's going to be an issue. I went all 'energy efficient' in the new domicile, and it's very hard to work around sudden swings in temperature. Take this time of year for example: 30 degree nights, and near 60 degree days. The average furnace blows your money out the stack. Trying to 'save energy' means sacrificing some comfort at times... It was worth it, but it's hard to remember that when you are shivering, or sweating buckets... Just sayin'...

Oh, like the sig. That hit somewhere in my mind... Funny...

It's a shame the people who build Apple's products in those Chinese sweatshops won't share the same level of luxury.

Welcome to the days of economic slavery.

I heard a Chamber of Commerce spokeshead say that 'they wouldn't be in such a rough shape as a people if they paid their workers more money'. That was a brilliant statement from the group that routinely beats the living hell out of employees in this country. I wondered what other employee hell hole they would find to build their members over priced and underquality crap...

It does make you wonder... American commercialization is the virus, the cancer, that is eating this country. Imagine if all of the manufacturing moved back here. The carping about labor laws, the carping about environmental regulations, the carping for the sake of carping...

Does manufacturing need a poor and uneducated workforce? No, but changing that would be like trying to rehab a life long heroin user... It wouldn't happen overnight, and would be a long long struggle...

Personally I think it's about dignity. American commerce has little allowance for it.

The things I would do to wake up every morning and walk into that office...

I think the lighting when you hit the front door would do that for you. Stark...

That's an impressive video. I wish it had the names of those places in it. Some I'd like to see in person.

I guess I meant more like 'hyper-Scandinavian' than the ham handed 'European'. In a way I had the same reaction when seeing the pictures of the yacht he ordered. .

I had the same reaction to the big boat..... Way to sterile for my taste.

Anyway, here is a partial list of the places in the video.

1. Berlin, Germany - Brandenburger Tor (Gate)
2. Paris, France - Arc de Triomphe
3. ?
4. Brussels, Belgium - Atomium

I think the place is going to be overrun with Apple Fan's visiting during their vacations. Also every time there is a new product launch that will be THE :apple: store to camp out at.

It's a brilliant design. Cant wait to see it in person upon completion.

However, they are going to need a lot of Windex.

lets wait and see what samsungs campus is going to look like!

Samsung already began construction on their San Jose HQ building:

samsung_sanjose_hq.png

It has parking underneath, and no one is more than one floor from an open green space.

I have to say, the rendering of the cafeteria looks rather depressing. Not a ton of light, massive open space with lots of places for noise to go in. And where are the nap rooms?

It would be cool if the middle section of that samsung building spun like a rubics cube.
Anyway the apple building: I think it's too early to really know for sure how it would actually look. Those are some really rough renderings, to rough to take seriously.

oh man, is this trippe or what....

I bet everyone will be even more glad to get to work now.... Better yet, they wouldn't even wanna leave.

*. Apple's one is better by far...

I just wanna know when is Microsoft gonna build theirs.
