Renders of 4.7-Inch iPhone 6 Allegedly Sourced from Foxconn Surface

Looks like another in a long line of concepts that go back to Ive's dungeon in Cupertino for development.

With the amount of leaks so far I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentionally different to what the final model will be - they know a certain South Korean manufacturer will be watching.

The lit up logo is actually just a window in the back of the LED screen assembly that allows the backlight to show through. No extra electronics. But in the iPhone the battery is interposed between the screen and the back case, so it wouldn't work.

They could just add a thin light panel. I did it with my iPhone 4S.

The only logo in any apple product besides apple's own, was "Bose", on the Bose speakers for the TAM.

For example, MacBooks and iMac's are the only computers that don't come with intel inside stickers.

You're correct, but goft20 was kidding.

Also, the Beats thing is not about needing to buy the brand. HTC needed Beats to sell phones (or try - FAIL) but apple won't sully their product with an inferior brand (I hope!).

If those antenna breaks really are as thick as the ones in all these mockups and are a different color than the phone itself (white band or black band against a silver phone) then this is going to be the ugliest iPhone yet... Those thick bands just make it look bloody awful.

Fake. No Beats logo.

I have this bad feeling that we will see Dre and company at the keynote for WWDC announcing the merger. If so, get ready for a very mixed response from the crowd. Developers follow a different beat (pun intended) over pop music.

You have a step-by-step of this with a parts source on the web? I'd love to do this.

This phone is "unapologetically" 3 years late.

And Apple is still "unapologetically" laughing to the bank. If anything, Samsung has become become one big smartphone feature beta tester for Apple.

sweet! Another render of the same thing. Gonna be so hard to wait for the 5.5 incher.

twss!

Maybe those antennae will be made with liquid metal (hopefully matching the color of the phone itself). liquid metal would help reduce impact during drops and the idea is not new that they would use it in this capacity:
http://www.cultofmac.com/54827/liquidmetal-inventor-exotic-alloy-may-make-new-iphone-antenna-exclusive/

Very interesting theory.

Look at what I found :
Apple Files New Liquidmetal Patents Covering an Injection Mold & the Creation of the Bottom Portion of the iPhone

The top and bottom portion of this iPhone 6 rendering look a little odd to me and I don't think it's an aesthetic choice.

The antenna isolating seams are much larger than on the 5/5S and reach around to make the whole top and bottom parts of the device.

Does it mean that the top and bottom parts of the iPhone 6 will be made of plastic? I don't think so.

The way the top and bottom part fit into the main aluminum body seems to be overly complex for a simple plastic part.

BTW these rendering match those published on an Ukrainian site a couple of weeks ago. MacRumors didn't even noted this in the current article. https://www.macrumors.com/2014/04/25/iphone6-case-maker-renderings-antenna/

Edit: The more I think of it, the more it makes sense to me. The top and bottom needs to be made of a material other than aluminium that is durable and can absorb shocks.

Yet another Edit: Either these renderings are fake or the mockups are wrong. Mock ups show the top and bottom to be in aluminium which is different than what we see here.

I think that's the antennas.Check the htc one to see how they might look on the finished product.

Yeah but that looks like crap. They should just do the glass thing that looks really nice on the 5/5s. But they may not want to do that with the curved sides so what they should do is build it right in to the apple logo like an iPad.

Apple iPad apple logo would take up almost all of the phone and look even worse.

I think glass would look like crap in this design. It would look like a mess of materials.

The iPhone 6 will be unveiled at the WWDC this year, and it is likely to be available for preorder before July.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 later this year, with a recent report stating that the company will launch the 4.7-inch version in August and the larger 5.5-inch version in September. Aside from a large display, Apple's next-generation iPhone will likely include a thinner profile, a new A8 processor, and an improved camera in the form of either optical or electronic image stabilization.

Why does MacRumor constantly end every article with the exact same sum up.
We all know this. Why bother unless you are just trying to pad the story to make it look fuller. Oh I see, you are just trying to pad the story and make it look bigger.

I think it's possible we'll see it at WWDC but not very likely. But if apple does do this I think it would really only be on sale for developers for a while. The only reason apple would have a reason to unveil it early is so developers can optimize their apps. But that would take horrible summer iPhone sales to nothing. So it's really going to be interesting to see how this all works out.

OMG...another render...mockup, etc...Lawd...if I didn't know any better, I'd think this phone was coming out this summer, and not fall.

These mock ups exist for websites like this one. Get used to it lol
