If you have you original OSX install DVD, put that in the drive and boot

black screen for me too

Hi everyone, I just replaced a HD in a friends imac (2389 mid 2010) and have a black screen, I've checked all the connections, the seem to be OK, led #4 is not on, does that mean my LCD is defect, or could there be a damaged cable?
The data cable popped off when I took the display off, it looks undamaged, but then I'm hardly an expert...
The mini-display port is still functional, does that indicate the video-card is not damaged?
I was nót wearing an anti-static wrist-band when attempting to help my friend out....
