here's an amazon review

The problem comes with the screen. As far as I can tell, I do not have any of the ghosting problems of generations past. However, the screen is not color uniform! There is a yellow tint on the bottom left and across the right side of my screen (alternatively, there's a blue tint in the middle and upper left of my screen). It's fairly faint and not something 90% people would notice in casual use, to be honest. But I'm color sensitive (check your color sensitivity by Googling x-rite color challenge) and I notice these things and I want to edit photos and video, so color uniformity matters to me. Anyway, I'm taking it to the Apple store this weekend to see if they'll exchange it, and will report back with an update.

anyone affected too?

Its probably part of a strategy.

Because the iPad Air is calibrated to be cool without any yellow, they hope that by having some slight tinting of yellow with warmer Macbook Pro screens, people who may not be as observant will go out and buy an iPad Air just to be able to compare the screen to the rMBP. By doing so, the user will not only get a sale from the Macbook pro (which may have to be exchanged), but also from an iPad Air.

so you say that is just a calibration issue, that we can solve? without any apple help? you know calibrating a monitor with tools...

Here are pics of my new macbook pro has well, how does the screen look? oops don't think the pic was attached.

Thats what I noticed too, not so even >.>

I think it looks even, but seems to have the slightest tinge of yellow, so slight, that I think its just considered "warm"? Not sure if that is even a problem or not. You keeping it OP?

What ever medium he used to take the picture could be the culprit. It's a picture of a screen...far from being representative even with a Canon 5D III! What were the settings on the cam? A little saturation with contrast at +1 ,etc?

No it's actually my iPhone 5 camera that doesn't translate properly. I ran the grey band test, put up every white background I could find, it's perfectly when you look at it straight ahead. Like any IPS panel, you'll see a warmer area if you look at it from its side on the opposite end.

I've gone through 3 total, I can tell you that I wouldn't have kept it if it didn't look perfect (if not close to perfect)

LG is far superior in terms of color accuracy and white point. It's not cold blue and it's not samsung-yellow. It's just right.

I'm so happy I found one. Totally keeping it.

:)
