@@eyoungren i agree with you. And i also think that some of the remanufactured phones are better with less faults. But i think Apple must be clear about that. Now there is a misunderstanding about this and nobody knows what they really do. And also apple is not making any statement about this on their website or something.

I did ask various Apple store employees a few times what parts are re used and most of them can't really answer that question straight. I also heard very different story's every time. One time the genius told me that only screws or antennas could be re used as they don't wear. He stated that no logic board or part of the logic board is ever being re used in a replacement iPhone.

@Shadowbech, repair of the original phone is an option or replacement by a new model.

Every replacement iPhone I've gotten over the years has been a remanufactured device, but generally is better than the new iPhone's I've purchased.

At least in my own experience refurbished iPhones for me functioned just as well as brand new ones. For me I am just ecstatic that the phone works, I am a simple man though.

Yeah and every replaced device I received had the same issue or different issues and were exchanged over and over again. One basic thing what could have been avoided by just normal testing was the homebutton of my air 2 having a second clickpoint.
If the testing of the remanufactured devices is much better than the original production process, then the production process must be a mess.

I also received an exchange 7 plus out of the slim white box and when I connected it to my pc at home to get my backup on it iTunes recognized the phone I received from the Store as "Bernd's iPhone". No my name is not Bernd.

I've had new 4/4S/5S/SE and all were with some display issues (uneven backlight, dust/scratched underneath the screen, stuck pixels, scratched/dots on the Aluminium body) including my new 6S, which I bought last year. Luckily it was part of the Apple's replacing program (because of the faulty batteries last December) and they gave me a replacement unit - this is by far the best unit I've had among all! Simply perfect illumination of the screen, perfect battery life and perfect condition of the body! So after so many new phones and bunch of returns (14 days return policy) I finally got a perfect unit once I stopped worrying to have a replacement/ refurb unit. So I do believe that refurbs are even better tested than new units.

They can be better but apple can ben more open en tell customers what they replace our iphone's with.
