I see your point, but knowing what we know now, if Apple gave you the option of paying $60 to cover the cost of a retroactive AppleCare+ where they will give you brand new first gen AirPods, would you take that offer for the next two years rather than buying the new AirPods Pro?
I totally would. Only problem with my gen 1s is that the right one only lasts 5 minutes. I have to bring my case when I go running and keep popping in for a charge every other block. I don’t like the seal in the ear of rubber tips so to me the original AirPods design is ideal.

I absolutely would. $58 vs $250 is a big difference.

My pair of AirPods Pro will arrive today, I am so keen to know how they behave outdoors when the wind is blowing - will it be possible to phone then ?

is this correct? Two incidents over a two year period @ $29 per incident? Is each component considered an individual? Meaning if I break the left pod, than a month later I break the right pod I’m all done with the $29 per incident? Or if on breaks the repacked both pods and case?
