Do we have to cherry pick our data? Tesla sales seem to be doing ok in some regions. If you want to make Tesla look good you point out Model Y sales. If you're not motivated to make them look good, you point out that overall sales of Teslas globally seem to be starting to plateau, having sold 1.77m cars globally last year, earning them a rank of 14th, between Audi and Renault, not even coming CLOSE to VW (4.97m) or Toyota (8.57m).

The Silicon Valley method of making your customers beta testers doesn't work so well with cars. Once the enthusiastic believers all have their cars, the rest of us aren't going to want to be beta testers for flawed cars.

When they had no competition in the EV space, they were the king of their sandcastle. Now the competition is starting to arrive, and we'll see if Tesla can become an actual mainstream brand, or remains a niche player.

Apple needs an injection of some talent and ideas fast.
I watched this video last night of apple intelligence vs google gemini in some practical real world tests and the gap between them was ridiculous. Like there wasn't any task that apple did better; and in many cases it either failed to even understand or the result was laugably bad.

Heck, some of the things that gemini did in that video I didn't even know was possible.
Apple continue to get away with what they do because of a few things; friction in moving, inertia of their customers, but also ignorance of their customers. I'm an apple user but i was quite literally surprised.
