Well I have a retina - so I know they are fantastic... what I am saying is that at normal sitting distance it's overkill for a 27" - This is retina at 41cm distance.

if it was 32" screen it's retina at 48cm ... which is closer to seated distance.

Bigger please!

I think that the market for the 4 - 5K is initially for creative folks rather than those who want sit and watch movies.

Here is the 4k support:
Nvidia maxwell 970M / 980M

HDMI 2:0 4K 60HZ + displayport 1.3
NEW AA method that is better and use less power*
much better bandwidth management (192bit maxwell is about identical to 256bit kepler now)
New enhanced Supersampling method with extra filters and all that work with all games (4k to 1080p)
Some stuff about being optimized for Directx12
Enhanced for VR if its your thing (less latency)
Direct3D 11.3
HEVC (H.265) hardware encoding

The point is that it's a workhorse and a tool. People get so upset about the cost of workstations... and say they could build one for cheaper etc... but no one suggest that a Van driver is an idiot for paying 25K+ for his work van or say 'well i could build a kit one for cheaper'
This.
Just because some folks dont work in a profession that justifies buying a $5k-10k computer they think everyone who does must be rich.
Dd they think a pro photographer who buys a $5000 camera and $3000 lens is rich? That isn't even the high end in digital photography. Check out medium format or Leica rangefinders. or Cine lenses by Canon!

Lol this screen isn't for gaming haha

Yeah, even top-end GPUs find it hard to run new releases at 4k, let alone 5k.
This would be nice for photo work. I'd say video watching too but 27" is a bit small for me for films!

I think unless it got some sort of scaler that upscale normal resolutions into retina level (basically just use 4pix for every 1pix), this is going to be a product too advanced for its time.

As many have already stated, even the most current GPU has problem keeping up with 4k, 5k@60hz is going to be brutal on GPU.
