I sure hope so because I'd be really sad if we end up with shortages. I want to get it Day 1.This is standard Apple. We’ve seen it all before. ‘Short supply’, ‘must have tech’, ensure demand is there. It’s all managed very carefully….

The vision is definitely far ahead of the technology.I hope it's not another "Newton" device, where the vision (no pun intended) was far ahead of what the available technology could provide at the time.
It has to be said: a lot of people who went into the demo believing it was just a hyped-up nothingburger came out impressed - sometimes actually moved. So, I'd say they could sell quite a few of them.
I don't see people lining up around the block for it to buy it - but I could see people lining up to try it.
- The price. Why do you think there won't?
The system is forcing corporations to make up new products because even being the biggest and best is not enough when there is no growth. Sometimes making up new things works, like with the iPad, sometimes it doesn't, like with 3D TVs. Now we are getting a mashup of an iPad Pro and a 3D TV. Only time will tell...the more valuable they get as a company, the more out of touch they become with the average person's spending-ability for buying luxury non-essentials
I didn’t know or even think about the possibility of such a statistic. To put that into perspective, 400,000 units is less than the average number of iPhones that Apple sells each day. If suppliers are expecting enough parts to make only 130k to 150k headsets in 2024, that’s minuscule.
Those micro OLED panels are super expensive, maybe even more so than Apple imagined. The mainstream version of this headset will go with less expensive panels for sure.
Only Apple retail store because the have to fit it to your face.So when it ships, how will Apple handle the situation of supply not meeting demand?
Only make it available at Apple retail stores in certain cities?
Only make it available to those who pre-order?
Only make it available to developers?
Order on the apple store app as soon as it goes on sale and you will be okI sure hope so because I'd be really sad if we end up with shortages. I want to get it Day 1.
Ad's are already on things that are planned to be used on the headset such as movies and streaming plus I have no doubt there will be an app to watch youtube videos. You can also find ad's in reading apps.I still do not think that it will be a success unless there will be a away to avoid ads. On a small smartphone screen ads are already very annoying, but imagine ads on a device that covers your whole view. That is a nightmare.
I was a huge downer on Apple’s headset before WWDC. But the demo wowed me and now I want one.Why do you think there will be high demand?
$3,500 isn’t a lot of money nowadays especially after the fed printed trillions.- The price.
- The discomfort of prolonged use or the impossibility of prolonged use (battery).
- People having learnt to be wary of first-generation products.
- What's the killer application?
They should sell it with some sort of self-destruct if you don’t activate it within the warranty period. This product is going to be worth so much within a few decades if stayed unopened. It'll be so rare + a 1st gen Apple product = $$$$$$$$, now that's a good investment.
Absolutely short sighted.- The price.

Like a battery that eventually expands and cracks the frame/lenses/screens.They should sell it with some sort of self-destruct if you don’t activate it within the warranty period.![]()
I don’t think it will be practical in that capacity for serious work, both in terms of comfort and as a Mac monitor replacement. I’d wait for user reviews if I were you.I want to use it as an external monitor when I have to travel and work.
No, the point would be for it to be a guaranteed mechanism, so that everyone knows that they’ll end up with a brick after two years if they keep it sealed.Like a battery that eventually expands and cracks the frame/lenses/screens.
But that might have happened with the recently sold sealed original iPhones, too. If the box is still sealed (which apparently is where the value lies) then no-one will know, anyway.
It's the price of a mid range studio Ultra, every single one made will be sold! Ultra wide Oled monitors cost over $2k alone, to put it into perspective!- The price.

It doesn’t need one, it’s killer hardware- What's the killer application?

It can't be worse than those addon screens and it should be much better than an iPad via sidecar. No, the point would be for it to be a guaranteed mechanism, so that everyone knows that they’ll end up with a brick after two years if they keep it sealed.
Computers have cost that and more for a long time. I had an Ad back in the day showing PC's costing up to $3k. Yes for a complete system (Monitor, Printer, PC Tower, Speakers and Modem). But those sold just as well. Mac's during the 90's and up to now can easily cost that much. This is a wearable computer, and factoring inflation. It's cheaper than those old computers and way more powerful.- The price.
