This thing obviously sucks...RIM is dead. They are doing a good job appealing to their fanbase though. People who are stuck in the past who haven't moved on from physical keyboards, lower resolution screens, slower processors, etc. Oh and don't forget BBM, that is Blackberry's last thread of existence. I love seeing the commercials for BBM on TV, its hilarious. I don't even like Android, but I'd take an EVO over this POS any day of my life. Blackberry had its day, now it's time to move on. I feel sorry to the fool that buys this for $199 on AT&T and doesn't get an iPhone 4. This release would've been big news in like 2008 maybe.

Headache from Demos & Navigation Woes.

I can see the value of a Blackberry in specific situations (i.e. email/text). I was really hoping they would do something unique with their latest OS because I haven't committed to an iPhone or Google yet.

The one thing I took away from all the demos watched and sparse reviews read is RIM has no idea how to develop a good desktop/navigation interface.

Just looking at this new Blackberry gives me a headache now! I just don't understand what they're trying to do --- the layout approach can be compared to a really bad PPT with an hour or two of material crammed on two or three slides. What's with the translucent images over a background picture? It basically renders the picture's message incomprehensible.

Wow, this device is so mid-range and mediocre, there was NO hype at all in the keynote, even the guy presenting wasn't even excited. NOW EVEN PALM CAN GET PEOPLE HYPED!
any way, the only people who really use BlackBerrys are those sickly emo kids you find in Subway or StarBucks every saturday/sunday... and also pedeophiles probably use BlackBerrys, so maybe there's a link here? :p

P.S. personally, I hate physical keyboards on phones, I can type faster on my iPhone than I can on my iMac or and other phone, I can get parragraphs done in seconds... you gotta love :apple:

BES will allow the Blackberry to remain a player in the Enterprise. Until Apple releases a centralized management tool for the iPhone it will always be something Corporate Security teams shutter at. Just because a CEO who likes new toys says his company is going to adopt something, doesn't mean the Info Security won't do its due diligence to squash it.

You know, I wonder how people can complain about Apple being locked down, but like IT departments locking everything down.

BlackBerry aren't bad phones.

Personally, I prefer the iPhone due to the OS and lack of physical keypad (yuck).

Having said that, this thread again displays how MacRumors should be called MacKid.

Spend £500 on an iPhone 4 which actually fails at times to operate as a it's original purpose - a phone, or £150 on a BlackBerry Curve which operates as a phone and more.

Go Figure.

I won't be touching the iPhone 4 till it's out in White, signal issues are addressed and tbh till the applications have caught up with it by which time an 'S' version will probably be out, which will be the better buy.

Well, we don't have any problems with the phone failing to operate downunder. It is more to do with your carrier (how strong the signal is and how many people are on the same signal as you). In fact, if one was a cynical person, it could be argued that the whole issue is an overblown FUD exercise by the iPhone haters in the tech media to try and get more people to move to Android. Not that I have a problem with Droid phones, but the fact that I am here and not a DroidRumors site or whatever should tell you something.

The bumper seems to solve most problems people have and I was planning on getting a case anyway to protect the investment. If I did meet someone with a problem who refused to use a case, I would tell them to take the phone back if they weren't happy.

Anyways, no one wants this thread to be hijacked by astroturfers, so back to normal programming!

That's why Ferrari is licensing their branding to Vertu uh ? You obviously don't really have a clue and you're just offended that iPhone is not #1, it's not higher end than anything, it's just a run of the mill smartphone, priced the same as other smartphones and with some lower specs, some higher specs than other smartphones.

Vertus are real status symbols and with the Concierge service, who needs an app ?

The analogy doesn't stand at all. iPhone is a Toyota, same as Android, same as BB. One just happens to be a mini-van, the other a sedan and the last one a sport utility.

I didn't say anything about the iPhone. I just said those Vertu phones are pieces of crap, which they are. Ferrari also licenses their brand to white trash t-shirt companies so I don't think they care much about who they license to.
